Not sure we can really point fingers..... Nicholls is a king of shithousery. Aye but he gets punished and time gets added on for it. All we’re asking for is consistency.

Mentioned this before, but the solution is simple.
As in rugby league, have a clock counting down from 45 mins. Every time there is a break in play, stop the clock. Re-start the clock when the match resumes.

Why not allow the Refs to listen in to the physios treating a player who has supposedly gone down with a head injury? Given the concussion protocol we now have, why not say that those players have to leave the pitch and be off for a min of 5 mins while the Doc gives them a quick once over? OR, just apply the actual existing rules, physios are NOT ALLOWED to treat a player on the pitch... Some excerpts >> "After stopping play for a serious injury or when recognising the need for medical attention to a player the Referee authorises up to two medical representatives to enter the field of play to assess the injury only and arrange for the player’s safe and swift removal from the field of play" ... "A player is not allowed to be treated on the field of play". ... "Exceptions to this ruling are made only for: Injury to a goalkeeper When a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and both need immediate attention When players from the same team have collided and need immediate attention When a severe injury has occurred, e.g. swallowed tongue, concussion, broken leg, etc." ... "This procedure for dealing with injured players will allow them to receive the correct treatment safely, off the field of play"

Re-start the clock when the match resumes. It would take too long for games to finish. There is an average of about 50-60 minutes of open play in a football match and to do so the timer would have to be reduced from 90 minutes which would never happen

Not specifically time wasting (as the ref wasn’t ready for the corner to be taken) but we’ll just file this under shithousery at its best
