We Town fans have been very very lucky regarding season ticket prices, but no doubt some on here will blame Dean Hoyle for the increase, after all they blame him for everything else. 19,294 fans this season is the average at Town so that is roughly just over 17,000 home fans and is excellent. There are a lot more female fans these days unlike in the crazy days of the 70s/80's and is roughly ten percent of Huddersfield's population and that certainly isn't the case for our friends in Englands 3rd biggest city, they would never average 85,000 Blame Hoyle for everything else?! Wow - not even close. DH oversaw the best times I’ve ever had watching town and was rightly revered for it. The mistakes and ambiguities since relegation from the prem however have tarnished the legacy and if you “don’t share” then when it goes badly wrong there is only one place the fingers can point. The ticket pricing has been fantastic value in the main - but it’s left us with a problem. How to increase them with the spectre of a return to league one looming increasingly close. Particularly given the track record of most of the managerial appts made in the last 15 years or so.

The lad does however get £10 a week from brand & partner sponsorship deals, another £15 ad revenue from social media platforms and a fiver from selling branded merchandise, areas where his mates are earning at least double that - I personally think he'd be better off concentrating on increasing the income from those streams in line with his pals above trying to eek 50p extra out of his dad...especially as he's an adult now. Hes not an adult though. The dad is just hoping the lad's coach at football will take on most of the responsibility for his son and stump up all the extra money he needs out of his own pocket. Hes heard he's doing alright for himself so he should. But of course the dad will still moan like fuck at the coach if his son turns out to be not that good at football. And this is where it breaks down, given that the coach in this instance has *DECIDED* to buy and prop up the football club using his own savings, because he's a philanthropist who likes to build communities and demonstrate he can beat challenges and maybe get some tiny element of payback through having his ego massaged. He's not some guy coerced into the role against his will, and he's possibly offended that some of the kids parents are undermining what he's trying to do by shaming other parents into thinking they should be paying more subs, when he's got bigger picture thoughts of keeping the core aspect of the community alive and well, and gradually reducing the commitment he needs to put in, by aiming at bringing in a larger proportion of income from local, national and international businesses who have a marketing budget that the club has failed to tap into effectively, which could make any increase from the kids parents seem like a blink of an eye. What he also is doing is trying to introduce other revenue streams, so those parents who wouldn't be disenfranchised by dipping further into their pockets have the opportunity to buy more merchandise, or spend longer around the club on match and training days throwing their money at over-priced beer and burgers and feeling good about theirselves, whilst most of the parents get on with the core business of simply encouraging their lad on the pitch, which is all they're there for.

At the moment, I'd be struggling to justify paying £250, to be honest. If we go down, and they whack the prices up, then it'll be the final straw. They can swivel. I think many would agree we might be a lot better off without you......... in fact I would actually be happy to pay for your seat and not use it, I am sure anyone sitting around you would be very happy if you speak in the ground like you do on here. I am guessing you are one of the small percentage to vote for keeping prices the same. L1 football and the season ticket revenue becomes much more important than Championship football so same price for either and increased to a fair amount makes perfect sense. What you're failing to understand is when you have been given a product at a price, regardless of whether it mirrors other teams, you cannot simply up the price when what you have been given is shambolic. Most fans understand we have had it great for a long time, but there isn't any justification on the field that an increase is warranted. We fans pay for entertainment, have we had much?

If it’s a product, then we are 100% customers.

HTFC arent like a retailer to us though are they. We're supposed to be fans and supporters...not customers. A better analogy would be a son asking his dad for a bit more pocket money so he can afford the bus to the football practice and maybe save up for a new pair of boots because his are falling to bits And the dad saying "What!?! MORE!!?! Ive been giving you £2 a week for ages now, you greedy little sod!!..I dont care if all your mates get more off their parents..£2 is plenty off me...walk to training and mend your boots with some gaffer tape lad!" We’ve been customers since 1992. We just didn’t realise at the time I think we've been valued more since 1992. Before that the 'customers', if we're calling ourselves that, were housed in a shit hole, made to piss up against a wall whilst getting rained on, treat like shit by the police just for being a football fan and fed a diet of offside traps, back passes and lump it forrad football on a mud heap of a pitch.. It's why the number of customers was so low at pretty much every club compared to now. Much much lower. Say what you like, but since 92 the overall product we ( we, as in football fans ) are buying and how we are treated by our clubs has improved massively. Yes we pay more for it and KO times are all over the place now..its not all been good..but I always think in these discussions anyone saying it was better in the old days of the 80s and before that must be looking at it through some very rose tinted specs,,,and its a view thats maybe more to do with they themselves being younger back then and having a different , more exciting, experience to what they do now, than anything else.

But I dont think the parents can really just expect the coach to almost entirely carry the cost of their kid....it is their kid after all , will be long after the coach has decided to do something else and move away and theyre more than happy to go round telling everyone what their son means to them and how much they love him....I dont think just because no one forced the coach to step up and try and improve the kid at football , that means the kid becomes just the coach's responsibility and the parents can sit back and expect him to do that like its his duty to them. Especially if all the coach is suggesting is they go back to what the last coach was asking them to chip in 8 years ago and is actually willing to pay the lions share himself. I dont see what the parents have to complain about. If they think thats unfair on them then they probably shouldnt have ever had a kid!

Stoke have held ST prices again. Seventeen years with no increase My Boothen End seat still £320
Mind you the way we’ve played for the last six years that’s overpriced 😡
I suppose it party reflects that ticket money isn’t such a big part of income these days

I think the price will be irrelevant if we're relegated, we'll lose many thousands.
If we stay in the league I predict price tiers and an increase in line with inflation which is fair enough imo. People might not like tiered pricing but it makes perfect sense and allows people to set their own price to an extent whilst increasing revenue.
If KN is prepared to splash the cash on players they could probably get away with an above inflation increase. Not in league one though.

Most fans understand we have had it great for a long time, but there isn't any justification on the field that an increase is warranted. We fans pay for entertainment, have we had much? maybe we have been paying about correct price wise for the football seen on the pitch...... However purchasing a season ticket you have no guarantees what entertainment you are going to get, under Carlos and Wagner the pricing was also low and we had some great seasons should we have all paid more at that time, there is no correlation between what entertainment you get and the price you pay, it might be less fans decide to purchase a ticket because the season before the football was awful. All we can go on right now is Kevin and his team have said they are ambitious and want to be mid to top half of championship (if we are not in L1) next season and they will make the changes needed to achieve this. If it happens or not we need to wait and see but I generally believe this is the target and they will attempt to make this a reality. If the tickets are £250 or £350 each then I am quite sure the same ones not buying because of the lack of entertainment would not buy at £250 or £350, we would lose a few more being £350 but really not as drastic a cut as many think, and even then those fans not buying would end up buying tickets at full price for many games I am sure of this. The increase is not warranted or controlled by the football on the pitch, it is warranted because the prices are not sustainable, and in order to achieve better performances we need to spend more, to spend more money we need more income, and season tickets is one of many ways of raising the income, the prices being quoted are still really really cheap and good value for Championship football, if some fans can’t afford it I understand but this doesn’t change the fact that £350 is still very good value and cheap in the market place.

We are customers, but its not like being a customer of some retail outlet like a supermarket or a business you buy from. You arent emotionally tied to Asda and if Asda start pissing you off enough, you just go to Morrisons instead. Thats why Id liken it more to the relationship with your child.. you love them even if they let you down and disappoint you,,even if they do daft things you cant fathom, you support them financially, help them, take great pride in them when they do well..defend them against criticism...

No negativity from me, what I've been witnessing on the pitch takes care of that on its own. I've seen my team in 70-odd grounds, I've paid a lot more for season tickets in the past, probably will in the future too, but I don't take too kindly to people like you telling me how I should support my team. I don't think £350-£400 is reasonable for what we've been watching, and that's my opinion, which as far as I'm aware, I'm allowed to state. Thinking £350-£400 is expensive for what's on offer doesn't make me a negative fan. If you do work for the club, maybe you could introduce yourself at the Heritage Open Day on 30th April, where I'm giving up a day's work to come and help the club as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of leaving Leeds Road.

It's certainly the case that the cost of running the club over past couple of years has gone up a heck of a lot.. energy bills, wages, food, . we've all seen it. Someone has to pay for that.
So KN could pump a bit more in to keep us afloat or we pay more and let KN spend the money on players.
Everybody struggled through the energy crisis, and with high inflation, Town are no different to other businesses who have to pass some of that cost onto it's customers I guess

You will be paying the new fee for what we are going to be watching and as Kevin says he doesnt want this again, will it happen who knows but for sure it is what they are going to try to do. As customers / fans we all want a better product and I am convinced we will see many changes on and off the pitch. Try and help the team with a positive not negative message and you might in your own small way help the performances on the pitch.

But the constant negative posts on here, on X (Twitter), listening to some comments in the ground, are not in anyway helping the 11 on the pitch. For the final 8 games we need the crowd / fans together and creating the best positive atmosphere in the grounds, this can really help the team and in our own small way we can all help the team maintain championship football. Mr Nagle has had so much abuse recently and honestly its out of order, he has like others made mistakes in hindsight, but he has also got a lot right and the intentions are there to get more right we should all back this now and try and support everyone to get the results required. We need to as fans create an atmosphere like some of those premier legue games on Friday give the team support, leave the negative vibes at home the players 100% feel the support.

Also, h e hasn't "got a lot right" at all. You just have abused him here ! I dont think this is correct there is a lot that has happened that is right or at very least moving in the right direction. 4. Again, the atmosphere reflects what the fans are watching on the pitch. it doesnt need to though if you can be more positive

'Puddled' is demanding to watch winning Championship football for the price of watching National League North football. It must be easy to get to over 42,000 posts when all you do is repeat yourself ALL the time. Entitled is your favourite word. Tedious is mine. Don't think many (if any) are demanding winning Championship football for cheap season tickets, they're merely pointing out that the club need to be very careful how they price them going forward after making the very naive decision to price them that way for years.
