Been puzzling over this for a while not found an answer. Teams finishing 4th to 9th are supposedly in a promotion playoff. Promotion to where?

Must be a misprint as the only team in the Scottish Prem that has a play off is the team finished 2nd bottom as far as I am aware.

The thing that totally pisses me off is that when Sky show the Scottish Premiership game on Sunday, It's either Celtic or Rangers playing... every fucking week. Let's see some of the other teams.

The two-phase system / mid-season split is a bit unconventional, I grant you - wasn't always that way, and it does seem a bit clumsy.
The promotion (from the Scottish Championship) / relegation play-offs, though, are great. The Bundesliga does the same, does it not?
But I'm not having people who support Huddersfield Town sneer at Scottish football. Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen supporters (to name but three) know fine well they support relative also-rans - though Dundonians who support Celtic, or Aberdonians who support Rangers are the same as Surrey Man United fans, IMO.
The standard's not great at times, but so what? It's about local pride. If that's "irrelevant", we might all just as well start supporting Man City, because Town are considered pretty irrelevant by a great many people.
Bollocks to that.

You say that, but other than maybe the Edinburgh derby, no other games or teams are going to be of interest to the neutral and won't mean subscriptions or money for Sky.
Though for reference, Tuesday they're showing Ross County v St Mirren, and Wednesday they're showing Livingston v Motherwell

Sky Sports: TV audience figures painted a similar picture. The opening weekend of the Championship was the most watched on Sky Sports ever, with an average of 631,000 viewers across all four matches, up 77 per cent compared to last season.

All you need to know about the SPL is that Motherwell are by far the greatest team in it
