A lesson today on why we should support whoever wears the shirt.
Danny Ward has had so much negativity shown towards him on here and across social media 'stealing a wage, past it, a sicknote' etc etc. Today he showed what he is capable of when he gets service.
Tom Edwards has had so much ridicule and abuse from so called Town 'supporters' - 'overweight, useless, send him back' etc etc. What a gem of a precious assist he provided today.
If we had lost today our new manager would have got pelters for bringing Edwards and Ward on.
Stick with the squad through thick and thin and our patience and support will be rewarded.
Happy days are coming again

In fairness Pete, Town fans say what they see. We don’t appreciate shirkers or those who aren’t giving their all. Ward and Edwards haven’t covered themselves in glory this season hence the snipes.
This will never change. It’s been such for time immemorial. Once they have a poor game again both will be slated, maybe unfairly, maybe rightly so?
But fair play to everyone involved today. I’d have bitten your hand off for a point ahead of the game, so to win considering the other results, is massive.

Pretty sure every football club in the world, will have fans who complain about players and players performances.

Assume you'll be wanting Edwards to start next week against Summerville then Pete?
I won't be, because he's overweight and useless.

Ward in the penalty area - no complaints at all, good header of the ball and clever finishes.
Ward outside the penalty area - not good enough, poor close control and too slow.
How we play determines which Danny Ward we get. Hopefully by pushing up more, we get the first version.

Just that players don’t deserve abuse and ridicule if they’re poor. Blame the ones that put them there in the first place - the majority of the hate for Edwards is because Darren Moore put him up against Summerville at Elland Road.

Still didn’t deserve the abuse he’s had since for being thrown into that game

I think it's all about the supporters having faith in the manager. In DM we had no faith neither did the players is suspect.
I think when managers like DW, CC,NW made changes we as supporters trusted their knowledge of the players and the opposition.
It's early days but I think AB will unite the club players and supporters once again.
By the way the Town supporters today were magnificent. UTT

Happy days are coming again Whilst I pretty much agree there are some caveats. 1/ Players should always give 100% in training and on match days. 2/ Players should be professional enough to keep in shape. 3/ Players should act in a professional manner whilst representing the club. If players uphold those 3 key principals for me they will always get my full support.

Of course I don't and one swallow doesn't make a summer but why not support a player instead of stamping on him when he's struggling for form and confidence?

It is general practice for football fans to have a go at players when things are not going well.

Look at me, look at me, look at me. Tad harsh that to be fair, given you both create threads for engagement/interaction The only threads he creates are ones about how he's a better Town fan because he never criticises anything. Supporters praise and criticise as and when. Player plays well, he is praised, player plays badly, he is criticised. That's how it works.

Fair play to all who hung on in there I've liked your initial post because Ward does sometimes get excessive stick, but it's wrong to never criticise and just accept. Criticism and negative feedback are just as, if not more important than positive. A balance is required.

Not sure we need to question our own supporters over it neither have been anywhere near good enough this season
