Even if we do what's required it's a worry that our rivals will be playing Southampton, Coventry, Norwich and West Brom at a time when those clubs will have nothing to play for and might be playing safe ahead of play offs. Realistically none of those sides will be busting a gut and risking injury. Likely that Ipswich will still be competing for first or second spot. Southampton still have a good chance of top two. Win their games in hand and they're level with Leeds and play them on the last day. They still have Leicester to play too Excellent, I hadn't noticed their games in hand. Another straw to clutch at least!!

so many games are important. We need Norwich to need something at Brum. So we need Hull to keep their run going and win their game in hand to keep the pressure on Norwich.
If there’s any way Ipswich could be promoted before we play them that would be ideal but it’s likely they’re going to need something.
If we can beat Swansea and Brum we’ll be on 50 points. If Brum beat Rotherham and lose to us they’ll be on 48 points. BUT if they win at home to Norwich and we draw at Ipswich we will both be on 51 points. However, we will be relegated on goal difference.

We’ve won 9 games all season. And people suddenly think we could get back to back wins against Swansea & Birmingham. Unfortunately I just can’t see it. Think we are doomed to league one. Just hope we can do a rebuilding job over the summer and hopefully have a decent season in league one. But I remember it taking us ten seasons last time we were there!!!

Admittedly we’re not in a great spot (predominantly because of a cheat with a whistle being the latest in a long list of reasons) but, but, but, tis’ The utterly crazy Championship so I ain’t chucking in the towel just yet...
You just never know in this mental league -
Lots of permutations still available and yep it’s getting harder and the noose is tightening but it ain’t over until ma fellow fat comrade the old lady sings...
And she’s no sang yet !!! 😉

Difference is, we are in a much better position going into League 1 than we were last time. It is such a bizarre league though. Clubs like Rotherham make it look easy and come straight back up. Yet others seem to take 3 or 4 seasons. It's not ideal, but I would take 3 or 4 seasons of play off campaigns and excitement, than repeating the last 2 seasons over again.

And with Portsmouth, Derby and/or Bolton coming up, we would likely be the biggest team in the division (unless Sheff Wed join us). There are no big clubs in that division if the top 3 come up (sorry Charlton/Reading fans), our last time in League One we had the likes of Southampton, Norwich, Leeds, Sheff Utd and Sheff Wed to get past, along with teams who have gone on to be good Premier League teams like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford. We should be pushing for auto promotion if not the title, although I appreciate football is never that simple.

2 wins = safe 1 win and 2 draws = probably safe 1 win and 1 draw = relegated on goal difference.
Anything less = League 1.

The club are clearly missing a trick by not selling white flags in the club shop.

Folk are ignoring Stoke, a huge match at home to Plymouth (who are also not fully out of it) with added pressure knowing they are away at Southampton the following Saturday. If they fail to beat Plymouth and we win they’ll be in full on panic mode. Get 3 points on the board on Saturday and things could look a lot brighter, it’s not the lost cause some people believe it is. I think maybe the huge disappointment of being robbed of those 2 points on Saturday is still lingering! Must must win on Saturday though. UTT

I really don't get why people have given up, it's far from over. Some are making it sound like if we win 2 games in a row it'll be a miracle. We were robbed last saturday, we competed for 75 mins at Preston, before capitulating admittedly, & we beat Millwall, we could, & probably should, have 7pts from those games, so 6 from 2 isn't mission impossible.

QPR have hit a bit of a run of poor form as well. Not an easy run in for them. The could conceivably end up getting just one or 2 more points, putting them on 48 or 49.

I'm sure Preston will roll over for them on Saturday like they did for Birmingham 2 weeks ago. However if Preston do get a win.... 👀

If fat guts can get a tune out of Rotherham and get a point - and we can beat Swansea, that sets up our match against Birmingham nicely.

I know I've previously said (on numerous occasions) that I think we are down. Somehow, someway, today I feel a little bit better about our chances.
I think Rotherham sacking their coach makes their game against Birmingham ALOT more interesting. It feels like it's taken away an a certain result there. IF, somehow Rotherham can get anything at all out of that game, then it sets up our game with Birmingham nicely despite what we do on the weekend. I do think Birmingham will win, but it doesn't seem so much of a sure thing anymore
I also think we stand a chance against Swansea. If it weren't for a bleeding 8th minutes penalty in a 5 minute ET, which wasn't a penalty in a million years, then we'd have beaten Bristol and Bristol are a better side and in better form than Swansea are over the last 5 games. We also held our own against Preston bar a 10/15 minute period where we collapsed and they are much better than Swansea. We just can't afford to collapse this weekend.
In a weird way, I'll be rooting for Blackburn and Plymouth this weekend which would take them out of the relegation battle entirely but it'll put even more pressure on Wednesday and Stoke for the remaining 2 games.
BEST CASE FOR US - Blackburn beat Sheff W, Plymouth beat Stoke, Preston beat QPR, Rotherham beat Birmingham and we beat Swansea WORST CASE - Sheffield W, Stoke, QPR, Brum all win and we lose.
I think 48 points is the magic number, and even then it could be decided on GD
