This is in my opinion the thing costing us the most with our current players. Whilst we have a squad with limited ability and with lots of injuries that have cost us this imo has held us back the most with it being well documented how we've dropped 27 points from winning positions (with at least 23 definitely our own fault) and our ability to completely fuck ourselves over and concede multiple goals in short periods of time. Our weak mentality is also our reason for being unable to get something when we go behind on most occasions. Also having a strong mentality was instrumental in Warnock saving us last season. This season we've only picked up 9 points from losing positions in 44 games whereas we picked up 11 in just 15 games under Warnock last season where we also only dropped 2 points from winning positions whereas we've dropped whereas we've dropped 15 points from winning positions in our last 15 games alone. It is also a big part of how we can completely fall into the shit for 20 minutes or so and games that were in our grasp are properly taken away from us. Outside of the 9 games that we've conceded 4+ goals in we've conceded 37 in 35 compare that to the first 35 games of the 21/22 season and that's only one more goal conceded as we conceded 36 in those games.
Nothing can be done about this with the players now but we have to sign leaders from now on to help deal with these situations better as it is a tried and trusted method to achieve success.

Totally agree, I've said this for a long time that football management is more about man-management than tactics. Warnock proved that last season. Look at Pep and Jugen, they know how to get the best out of players (who obviously have talent). Has AB got the man-management skills; the jury's out on that one.

Warnock himself said that we don't have leaders out on the pitch, unfortunately that hasn't been addressed this season. We definitely lack heart and character.

We’ve had this problem for a long time.
I was always a bit ‘meh’ about this sort of thing yrs ago, but it’s clearly a problem with pro sports players. Even with the money they’re on there’s still motivation and psychological work to do.
Most on here find it odd, because if we were in our early 20’s and crawling out of bed at godforsaken hours to do shift work, heavy lifting type stuff etc., you would jump at the chance to earn the money these lads do, the hours they work and the benefits they get.
But the reality is, they’re still humans, who have mentality foibles just like us…
It’s why I hope they’ve been told/advised to stay away from social media this week & next. Whether they have done or not is another matter of course.
Fine margins stuff this week, build them up to Saturday and hope we see a few fresh heads out there on the pitch.
UTT!!!
