Birmingham going to become the new short term rival? A bit like Northampton who were splashing the cash when we went down do div4 We were rivals in the 94 season iirc when they went up as champions and us in the playoffs. At least they don't have Claridge any more!

We've played Birmingham far more often than any other team in our history; 121 times so far. We've won more than we've lost.

Time to show some bollocks and not back down. Can’t keep letting them just shrug us off or we’ll never sign anyone. Unless of course they start throwing silly wages at him then we have no chance. Looks like it’s going to be a common theme this summer as we are two clubs with money looking to bounce back up This makes no sense. They have come in and supposedly offered May daft wages and a hefty signing on incentive. Trying to compete with this is not 'showing bollocks' it's just daft. If overspending is showing bollocks, Yorkshire must have the smallest average sized bollocks in the UK 😆

Birmingham are now the Man City of League One. They might buy the title, but nobody will respect the achievement.
Also, if our scouts are reading this, put a bid in to take Jayden Danns on loan from Liverpool. Looks like he'll be a cracking striker. A season tearing up League One could be just what he needs.

0 chance we get Mullin. Don’t think it’s a matter of affording just do not think he’d move from wrexham. And i think he’ll be on a lot more than 4k. 4k came from the page i found on the internet but imagine this has probably gone up a lot since promotion. Get what you mean though about how he may stay for the project. Just wishful thinking that if May and Langstaff can be bought who are better maybe he can. I imagine he was on 4K in the National League.

Id be surprised if we wasn’t looking at Tyrese Cambell. Ex-Stoke and on a free. Fits the bill . I mentioned Campbell a couple of months ago. Always all over us when we’ve played against him. Injury issues, but ey ?

Be interesting where we go from here after May, if we’re looking at this lad from Bristol Rovers and Birmingham want him we may aswel move on now, still think we’re 3/4 short and that’s before anyone else leaves…glad to have 3 in before the 3rd July though…we don’t usually even have a kit out by then 😂

Agreed though! Interested to see which direction we go in now that we've lost out on May. I'm sure we'll be checking our second or third options.

Let Birmingham spunk their cash away. If they get promoted they will more than likely be breaching FFP once the Championship season begins.
Alternatively, they'll end up not pulling up any trees and will find themselves in a crisis.
Focus on ourselves, we are doing okay so far in the market.

DATM now being quoted on Twitter… Anyone who watched Town get relegated by Brum in 2000 know they have some of the worse fans in the country We've all seen Town relegated and seen Town relegate other sides. Usually there's a bit of piss taking but not loads. The way Brum fans enjoyed that really sticks in the memory, like really reveled in it and we didn't really have any rivalry either I also remember going to St Andrews and literally as you walked out away end there was a group waiting to bait the leaving fans and saying "Zulu" etc. That's as older people, kids and whatever walked past and there hooligans are there effectively looking for a fight with anyone walking out the away end They're a bit like Millwall - done very little in there history but notorious for being unpleasant All they're doing now is acting obnoxious - as they do. They're very much the second club in Birmingham, were arguably worse run that Town last season - the whole football world laughed at them for sacking Eustice, getting Rooney and securing relegation - and now they're getting frothy because they got Alfie May. I mean I'd have liked May but I'm sure most of us are over it already

New striker- Proven in this league Another midfielder- Proven in this league Centre back- Experienced If Helik stays then we don’t need another centre back. We will have Helik, Lees, Pearson, Balker, Spencer, Turton and Ruffles. I’ve included the last 3 as they can play on the right/left of a back three. Another creative midfielder is a must but other than that I don’t think we are in bad shape.

If may flops and only scores a few everyone will be saying we dodged a bullet. I'd rather we go about things way we are and to quote dean Hoyle not blow our brains out.

I wish we would put a bid in for mcauley langstaff...he,s ultra prolific and only 27 years old
One or 2 clubs sniffing around but no offers for him yet...we ought to be offering notts a couple of million to test the water and he,s got shelf life.

Been thinking about our squad and the options. We spent good money on two strikers we thought were good enough for the champ Due to fitness and injury we didnt really see them but if we thought good enough for champ should be good enough for lg1 unless Duff does fancy them for his style and methods.Think we need a couple more mids ,maybe another striker option different to what we have ,Then trim the chaff.

Surprised there hasn't been more talk of outgoings. Anyone know of what players we are expecting to leave? David Hartrick on the latest we are terriers pod said that he’d heard from someone he trusted that there were a few players who’s agents maybe suggested to them that they’d have many offers from clubs and that simply they’ve had little to no interest. Probably lends itself to those sorts of players going late on in this window, not ideal for the club but also not much they can do about it either other than to get the right money for them if something does materialise

Helik, Thomas & Nichols will all Probably leave. Do we need Headley, Ruffels & miller ? No.

Spencer I think we would be fine on,possibly less interest as only really had one proper half a season down here. Also club can stick a big price on his head in knowledge that he’s less likely to kick up a fuss. Helik you would imagine has higher ambitions at the stage he’s at and will be eyeing the international team.If the right bid came in I think the club would be comfortable selling, that said if the bid came too late to properly replace him that may not be the case.

He's mates with Matos as well, having been at Norwich together. Doesn't mean they're mates. I work with loads of people who I wouldn't want to spend 2 seconds with outside of work Just quoting what it said in an article about him!

Has AM played at his other clubs with huge expectation to deliver the goods? Probably not, he could bag a few in pre season against the likes of Solihull & Walsall but the real test will be when the League campaign begins.........Two trips back to the Valley (EFL Cup) within ten games, tricky start for him?

Obviously the shape will change from time to time but i think it’s clear most of the time it’s going to to be 5 3 2.
The players i can’t see that suiting are Sorba, Koroma, Ward, Ruffels. Then add Simpson, Hudlin and Harrett as simply not good enough.

Still More signings to come. Interesting to see who they are and who we get over the line. I get the sense that Kev is on his plan. End of day as many have said over spending on a 31yr old league one striker makes no sense really. On a free maybe, but not wasting a transfer fee as well.
A goalkeeper, centre half, midfielder, a wide player and a striker.
Thomas, Helik, Koroma all can leave. Ruffles ??
Hudlin, Harratt loaned out.
High contract terminated.
That’s my guess anyway.
