Like others, I don't know enough about his day to day operations and what he brings to the table to say whether he should be sacked or not. What I could see, time and time again, was how poor Darren Moore was when presenting himself to the media, and this reflects on Cartwright plus the others on the board that appointed him. Moore was timid and appalling at interviews. What did the recruitment board see in him? First impressions really count. Moore had little, possibly no charisma. He wasn't bold and forthcoming. He couldn't answer questions without stalling and buying time with cliches, in order to give him thinking time. He couldn't answer difficult questions. It leads me to assume that he would have been like this when being interviewed. Also, he could have been like this in front of the players so maybe this was why the rot set in. To get back to the point, what on earth persuaded Cartwright (and Edwards) to believe that this man could manage a football team, and as such, leaves me feeling very concerned about the short/mid term future, especially if Cartwiright and Edwards are going to be at the centre of the upcoming recruitment decisions. Yes Laurel and Hardy Cartwright seems full of self promotion looking at that twitter interview he gave It came across like he actually believes he is the main man and most important Imagine being a manager with 8 promotions to your name and the most successful championship manager ever and having to work with that..who has managed no one and achieved nothing...it begars belief Managers used to be just that..the successful ones had pretty much a free reign over things...this director of football thing is complete bollox, trusting people who have never managed a first team to supply you with players..it rarely works and always causes issues with the real Manager!

Everyone slagged off Bromby, but time has reflected much better on him. Considering the financial restraints he was under, finding Corberan, and the overall shitshow since he was placed on garden leave last year. Even I criticised him at the time, but if what I heard about the last 2 managers not even being Cartwright’s guy, you’ve gotta say Bromby was better than this guy, at least there was some vision with him.

I agree, let manager's get the players they want in their squad Used to work. The manager tells the scouts what they want. The scouts find said person. Manager has the last say, has a look and says yes or no. Simple really.

Can we go back to having a manager who makes the decisions on players rather than this DOF/Head Coach style system?

Assuming the footballing decisions have been made by Cartwright (pretty big assumption), they've showed a lack of nous and understanding of the league and its challenges.
We've signed some decent players that were not right for our club or the situation we found ourselves in. Seemingly not recruited on character, which is where we've had success before.
The management decisions have been an absolute car crash. Even AB, who looks great on paper, has been completely the wrong option and that's down to the leadership. Either he's Cartwright's man, and should carry the responsibility, or it was a decision made by KN/others, in which case Cartwight is surely on borrowed time.

AB hasn’t been given the time to make a proper judgement, the players well that’s a completely different story.

I don't know enough about what he does day-to-day either, but here's my tuppence.
He obviously has access to a decent scouting network, and is looking in interesting places that we weren't doing before. Burgzorg, Bojan, & Balker are all talented players he could've and/or could yet thrive in a team that's more together.
He also has a habit of relying on names he knows. Nowhere near to the degree that's sometimes claimed though. Whether that's because of trust, if he's doing favours for old mates, or has fingers in particular pies, I don't know.
He sees himself as the head honcho, and moved into the manager's office when Moore was sacked.
Whatever your view on what's going on with Breitenreiter & the squad, in the cold light of day, Cartwright has made 3 managerial appointments this season that have each contributed to our relegation in varying ways and degrees. Bromby made one very canny and risky appointment, followed by two failed attempts at doing it again, and he was rightly booted.
Ultimately, I don't think he's made one big call right yet. And there's been lots of them to be made this season both on a player and manager front. It's not like he's new to the job like Bromby either. Get rid IMO

Get rid now. 100% to blame for the issues AB is highlighting
