interesting article about how city (and other clubs ) bounce players around to try and avoid financial penalties to the detriment of other clubs. "
Troyes
When you think of the City Football Group, you think of a rather sickening corporate machine tarnishing football worldwide, made more annoying by these ‘well-run’ clubs seemingly justify multi-club ownership models.
Fans of French outfit Troyes will open your eyes to an entirely different, much more bleak reality.
Troyes have now officially faced back-to-back relegations, going from playing in Ligue 1 in 2022-23, to playing in the French third tier for the 2024-25 season after being relegated from Ligue 2.
The main football club of a town in northern France with a population of around 62,000 people, Troyes have never been giants historically, but were acquired by CFG in 2020 and have essentially been used as a merry-go-round for players and staff ever since.
This has led to their sharp freefall from the top flight to the Championnat National.
To put into context how Troyes have been mistreated, Brazilian winger Savio was made their record signing in 2020, but never played a game for the club, having been immediately loaned to PSV and later fellow CFG club Girona.
Savio will join Manchester City this summer, while Troyes continue to struggle. "

But as of today what offences have City (in this country or any other) been found guilty of? Whereas clubs like Everton, Forest, Reading, Wigan, Luton have.

Look to Aaron Mooy.
As a Melbourne City player, his market value was basically zero, certainly less than £500k, no player has been sold out of the A-League for more than £2m prior to the young kid who will join Bayern Munich in July.
We ended up spending around £8m on him into the City Group, plus whatever the loan fee was prior to that.

And I'm not sure that £8m got us a 'normal' contract either - if it had we'd have been able to sell him on relegation from PL and not have to do some weird loan deal arrangement with Brighton.

So, Sac Rep could buy some expensive players, and then loan them to Town?

And all of this is a surprise because??? 🤔
These clubs have been manipulating rules for donkeys yrs really. They’re now approaching the stage where their clout is too big for any authorities to deal with them.
I mean, we have one club that’s literally owned by a foreign Govt.
Can folk remember that sponsorship deal that (it was PSG or Barcelona I think), where they claimed a €200m shirt sponsorship deal was the norm? Might have been linked to how they bought that petulant Brazilian lad (I know that’s not narrowing it down much…)

Whilst I believe KN is looking to build a sustainable club he is also entitled to spend his money as he wishes. If Sacramento decide to buy a top Player for say £30m on 200k a week and decide to loan that player to town for a loan deal of £1 a week provided it’s within the rules I don’t see why anybody should complain. Just like if City put a advertising board at the side of the m62 supplied by Ethiad airlines and they are prepared to pay £5billion for the board I again don’t see the problem.

If there's any justice, Citeh will be demoted to the Northern League and have all their titles forfeited.

More likely they will get a fine. No way will the PL relegate them, they are above the rules.
