When was the last time a Championship manager was so sought after?
Sounds like he's got offers on the table from Chelsea, Man Utd and Brighton. What an 18 months he's had, I bet he can't believe what's going on.
Still seems like a big risk for clubs the size of Chelsea and Man Utd to be putting him in charge. Promotion from league one and the championship is a completely different kettle of fish to managing the egos of the some of the best players in the world. Could be Potter all over again

The difference being it was Wagner going to Hoyle telling him he was well sought after, there wasn't much evidence of it in the press from what I can remember. Certainly not from the top clubs in England. |

Certainly not from the top clubs in England. Leicester, Villa and Wolfsburg, all within a few months of that season. There were definite links in the press, and from what Hoyle said later on, it seems he was quite close to going to Villa. |

Quite a few United players will know him pretty well I'd think. Can see the argument for Brighton but if you get the opportunity to manage United or Chelsea are you really turning that down? Worst case scenario you get sacked with a massive pay off and still more than young enough and have enough reputation in the bank (especially going to either of those squads) to get a decent job after. Wouldn't blame any player or manager going to the highest offer you only live once. |

I'd say he's better staying at Ipswich for one more season.
Chelsea - he'll be lucky to last the season.
Man Utd - hiding to nothing.
Kompany to Bayern is the perfect example of a manager failing upwards.
His stock is incredibly high. He'd be better staying in known surroundings and working out the league first before taking a job at a super club!

He’s be better off going to Brighton or West Ham imo. Chelsea will make you rich and quickly unemployed. Man U will make you less rich and ultimately unemployed.
Brighton is a safe job. Great player scouting, fans won’t turn and mid table is acceptable. West Ham might be more challenging admittedly.

I can see Poch going to Man U, De Zerbi going to Chelsea and McKenna going to Brighton.
Either way I hope McKenna stays at Ipswich and gets to the end point of that project. Relegation doesnt seem to have hurt Kompany's career no reason McKenna can't get a big job either.

Not sure Brighton is as good a fit as people are suggesting. Think they've got ideas above their station and if he can't get them challenging for a European Pappa Johns place then he'll probably be out of work this time next season. Take the biggest job on offer and the money that goes with it, it might work out. Presumably the only reason that Potter and Cooper are still out of work is that they're holding out for offers from top clubs that will never come. Didn't Cooper turn down an approach from Norwich? He should have snapped their hands off, just up his street you would have thought.

My Ipswich supporting aquaintance, says they are f#£!ed if he goes. The squad is nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. They'll have to find a new manager and then strengthen the squad.
