The League One achievement wasn’t anything special, it was how they then took the Champ by storm with the majority of the same squad.

They spent 7 digits on a left back when in league one (Leif Davis). Whether you think they bought the league or not, they clearly outspent much of the league.

Moving to Chelsea or Man U despite his connections would surely be too soon but Brighton can see is happening.

Staying at Ipswich

Brave decision. reality is Ipswich could be rock bottom of the PL by October/November and he could get the sack. And his chance to make that step up to the 'big time' clubs might never happen again.

I think they’ve a fighting chance of squeaking safety. They are in a double promotion high, he has financial backing and they might catch the PL cold. I think they will eventually get worked out and ground down but if he keeps them, his stock will be really high. I do agree with Slapps that the Man U job is probably a once in a lifetime job though.

Only Sheff Utd sacked their manager this season out of the bottom three. Burnley & Luton both stuck, think Ipswich will stay loyal to Mckenna also.......With VK's agent he could end up at Real Madrid next.

He is under no pressure what so ever at Ipswich and it is the right decision. My mum use to have a saying, "Don't run until you can walk" sound advice.

What makes their job so much harder is the fact that all 3 promoted clubs dropped back and Forest lost their points this season.(and did Everton, or was that previous?) They have to finish above Leicester, Southampton and a.n.other. Can't see it happening.

Yeah, think his job is safe unless theyre getting cut adrift at the bottom. It's good to see a bit of loyalty to the club that have given him his big chance. Fair play to him for that. But in terms of his career, knocking back offers from Chelsea and Man Utd ( if he has ) is a huge gamble. Its not unlikely that his stock will never be as high as it is now and hell never get the opportunity again.

Also the fact that they have to be incredibly organised to do back to back promotions and that will always bring many more points in than would otherwise be achieved.

I think he might’ve been in with a chance of the Brighton job but I’ve heard Potter’s return could be on the cards. I don’t think McKenna was serious consideration for the other two.
