It will be in Rotherham. That's their record lowest Championship points going out the window

Plymouth announced season card renewal prices (not cheap) a couple of days ago, they have a 3000+ waiting list which could be needed with this appointment.......Lead balloon, Titanic & Bismarck are just a few of the references to 'going down like' for Rooney's impending arrival.

Their DoF was Rooney's youth coach at Everton
Basically his appointment I guess.
The last one didn't work out well.

That's one relegation place already filled now Rooney has been appointed - at the very least Neil will get a rescue job come Feb.

His third Championship job but the first where he will have the opportunity to sign any players.

I reckon he might surprise a few. He's never managed a club over here with a full window he can use to his advantage.

Rooney is brighter than people think. Watch his “Overlap” interview with Gary Neville. Certainly brighter than I’d given him credit for.

He's got a bigger chance than people give him credit for. Birmingham were in a false position when he arrived there although he also didn't pull up any trees he could only work with what he had as well. He's not daft and he knows the game, he's also got more experience now good and obviously bad which will only help him. He doesn't need the money either so he must have the drive to be succesful as well. Might not be as terrible as some people think.

He was a disaster at Birmingham.. but that doesnt mean he will be at Plymouth. Sometimes it just doesnt click and next time it just does.

Seems strange to think, but, at the time of us parting ways with DM, i thought Wayne Rooney would have been a good fit for us, ultimately he went to Birmingham and we hired AB, both didn't work out for all parties. That's not discrediting Duff at the time or now. But, like some have suggested I don't think anyone has seen what Rooney can truly do, as Birmingham were in false situation, and wasn't truly able to bring in players or put down his style. He'll have a pre season and an opportunity to use his network to recruit some I'd imagine pretty good players there.
Time will tell, but I for one certainly won't have Plymouth down in relegation battle this season.
EDIT: I'd also not be surprised to see Lewis O'Brien down there either this coming season.

I presume you meant when we parted ways with NW? Rooney was appointed at Birmingham a similar time to DM here. He was sacked at Birmingham before DM left us.

Whilst I wouldn't have wanted Rooney to be given the Huddersfield job, I do think he might succeed at a club like Plymouth with a full pre-season and transfer window to go at. I'm quite fond of the Argyle and I'd like to see Wazza succeed, so I'll be rooting for them next season!

Fair play to him for taking it. Probably the lowest status job in the championship. He doesn’t need the money. Seems to just love football and believes in his ability as a Manager. What would success look like ? survival? mid table. I hope they achieve it.

I’ll bet on Plymouth to survive when the market opens. I think Rooney will inspire and coach improvement from the players there.
