Going to slot one for early this week. The last one was, for obvious reasons, much more serious in tone than usual. Since summer is now beginning in earnest, we’ll probably knock one out every 3-4 weeks. So that being said, I always appreciate being able to count on my friends here for some good questions. I hate the whole “his mate is interviewing him so we won’t get tough questions”, all are welcome. And they don’t all have to be serious here, we’ll throw in some random ones as well. Please just pop them below if you wish. As always thanks and take care. I've got a question you can ask Kevin. Why have the club decided its a good idea to charge anybody wanting a season ticket this season who didn't have one last season an extra £100 per ticket? There as been a lot of talk about trying to attract new fans, young and old, to the club. With these price increases, the club are pricing out a lot of people who would have liked to attend this season, particularly if it was a family who would have liked to purchase tickets for this season. Kevins last messge was that the club had decided to freeze season ticket prices this season, however it turns out that that statement was actually misleading. Surely the aim is to attract as many fans as possible, especially after a relegation season when there are gonna be a large amount of empty seats in the stadium most games. New fans are vital, extra match day revenue is vital, filling as many seats as possible is vital, not just for revenue but for atmosphere too. The clubs message they tweeted out yesterday says Everything Together, We need you with us. Well its not very together when two people sitting next to each other could have spent £100 difference in tickets. I think this is a misjudgment by the club, and a very big PR mistake. Mate it’s hardly breaking the bank is £100. It’s not even what someone would spend on a decent night out. Another way to look at it is £4.34 extra per game. Not even the price of a pint these days. Negative comments just for the sake of it

What with travelling, hotel prices etc, I have to factor in a round of four or five pints with friends, let alone the match ticket. Why on earth should a season ticket cost £100 more for someone? You'd think they'd want to encourage as many fans as possible in a lower division, not drive them away. Never heard such rubbish, and a ridiculously divisive policy.

Kev Can we have the return of the red & black striped/black shorts away kit, 'cos it pretty much guarantees our promotion. I think the last time this applied was the 2003/04 promotion from the fourth tier. The promotion to the Championship in 2011/12 had a red away kit but with a black and white rugby league style V on the front. This replaced the black and red striped shirt of the previous season. Our most recent promotion, to the Premier League, featured the neon yellow and black hooped away kit which was worn at Wembley. We did though have a red and black striped away kit in 2018/19 when relegated from the PL! Going further back - the away kit for the 94/95 promotion season was white with black sleeves; the 82/83 season had a yellow away shirt; I've struggled to find an image of the 79/80 away kit so you may be correct for that promotion and certainly the previous return to the top flight in 69/70 did indeed feature red and black striped away kit. So, only featured in 2 or possibly 3 out of the last 7 promotions. Looking at it another way - in the 34 seasons since 1990/91 (chosen as there's a concise graphic since then) we've had red and black striped away kits 7 times (one was a third kit) but only got promoted in one of those. Sorry but it's far from a guarantee!

Sounds like the main thing you’re not factoring in there is the match ticket. Football is not free to watch at a professional level and expecting to be is madness. Get a cheaper hotel etc if the main thing you’re doing on this excursion is the extra £4.34 is putting you off.

Negative comments just for the sake of it To you it might be a decent night out, to somebody else it could be the difference between being able to afford or not, to a family looking to attend this season, it could be hundreds of pounds difference. There's no negativity just for the sake of it, that has never been my style, its purely pointing out that the original statement about prices being frozen was very misleading, as this didn't apply to all who wanted a season ticket this season. For a club who have thousands of empty seats, and just been relegated, its an error.

It's a fine line, I know, but those of us who have stuck with the team should be looked after. Say tickets go up £100 following season £349, the 'newbies' will then not suffer a price increase.

Unless you're hiring a limo and hooker then you must drink some ale. My wife would kill me if I spent that on a night out.

Couple of spirits maybe and you’re up to at least £70 on booze. Add in food and taxis, can easily spend £100 on a not that extravagant night out.

I'm glad I don't drink anymore if it's nigh on five quid a pint! It’s not, it’s often £6! In fact I paid £6.50 for a pint of Moretti last week, in a pretty shit pub. Carling was £5.

Found an old spreadsheet of bills earlier today from 2016, frightening how much costs have spiralled. In fact the only thing that’s gone down is my season ticket 😄

The variation in the cost of a pint is baffling. I've paid way over six quid in some bang average pubs round here but had cheaper pints in central London and other city centres. Also it's cheaper for me to drink in town than it is in my local pubs. Is it as simple as some bars profiteering and taking the piss post COVID or something else? Surely the prices of a pint should be broadly similar? I'm not talking about weatherspoons either where I can get a pint for almost half the price of my local pubs.

I'm glad I don't drink anymore if it's nigh on five quid a pint! Oh it can be more than that. What gets me is he's factoring TEN pints for a night out. Apart from not seeing the point, I could never manage that, and yes I know some can. Still they'll probably be drinking Carling piss, not real ale. Four or five is generally enough for me, but hey I'm old and knackered.

Why spoons can do great real ales for £2.70 and my local Bowling Club can only do a pint of crappy lager for £3.90 or more, not forgetting a £75 membership fee. It doesn't keep long enough or sell well enough. Some of the old farts actually play Bowls.

Gassy, sugary, bloaty stuff, guaranteed to put pounds of weight and a beer gut on you. (The Moretti...better, same with Madri, but still not my thing really. Each to their own, I'll stick to my supposedly flat murky wet dog smelling stuff, even though that latter description is more preachy and nonsense than what I said. .....gassy is gassy)

I've been out with real ale drinkers though and they seem to take it very seriously! I'm just easy pleased I guess, a nice cold pilsner on draught (definitely not carling) and I'm happy.
