Both a shadow of their glorious earlier spells Brown was one of my all time favourites first time around but nowt like on his return. Yes I remember being over the moon when he came back but a shadow of his former self unfortunately. Has to be my favourite ever town right back, the sight of him tearing down the wing was a sight to behold! It's a long time ago and I was a kid but I don't seem to remember him having any tricks, just seemed to go past players with speed and brute force! Had a great shot on him too! I was devastated when he signed for Newcastle!

Not an exhaustive list - Roy Ellam, the first-ever to return, Rod Belfitt, Steve Smith (pressed into action from the coaching staff at left-back in a cup-tie at Workington), Bobby Campbell, Delroy Facey, Luke Beckett and Adam Hammill.
99 Years and Counting shows the following as having two spells, but, although I haven't checked, they may not have played for anyone else between the spells, which maybe shouldn't count as a returning player (like Kasey Palmer, perhaps):
Mick Laverick, Neil Freeman, Mark Wright, John Kelly, Paul Williams, Chris Beech and Paul Rachubka. Presumably any loan signing being made permanent would be on an updated list eg the Bald Prince.

Doesn't actually say for how long. Guessing it's a 1 year deal?

Fifteen in half a season last season I think, might end up top scorer if he can stay fit.

I’m surprised we haven’t re-signed him yet, just the right striker for Duff 😉

Everytime this gets bumped I'm expecting to read he's been ruled out for the season
