Like him or loathe him he’s wasted no time in getting his signing’s in early. With 7 new signings he’s made sure the Rotherham squad won’t be full of players that were just used to losing as per last season. Not saying they will all “gel” but they’ll certainly have a fresh start. Getting rid of the losing mentality is something we need to address.

Steve Evans is a good manager, but because he's a big fat Scottish bloke who's a bit of a knob, he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Stevie Evans is a Gallus Glaswegian Lad who grew up supporting Celtic in The Castlemilk area in The South-East of the City... It had around 50,000 folks there sharing about two pubs (The Castle Arms and Bennigans) and was a good grounding for the ‘school of hard knocks’ type of guy... I think The Cop Shop on Dougrie Road was quite busy back in the day for sure and the last time I was there a few years ago for the funeral at St. Margaret Marys of a good mate that had epilepsy and fell outside The Vicky Bar on Vicky Road (Victoria Road) hit his head on the pavement and went to bed that night with his missus and never woke up leaving three young kids behind (R.I.P. 💔 Darren Mills)... That school of hard knocks experience will have stood Stevie Evans in good stead in his career and I think he did ok with The Yo-Yo’s (Rotherham) last time around and I think he will this time as well !

To be fair Rotherham knew they were relegated about 5 months ago.

People need to remember that Rotherham have had about 6 months so far knowing they would need to prepare for Div 3, they've signed free agents, most of whom many on here would be fuming if we had signed. We should, without being big headed, be looking at different players to what Rotherham are due to the recent past we have had. Rotherham are banking on the going straight back up because that's what they've been used to, & they may well achieve that.
We need to get over the underdog thing that we've had for a long time, which might have suited us once. We are a big fish in League 1, just have a look at other message boards, we might not be used to it but we need to start acting like it, the vast majority in our league would love to have the budget we will have. They'd love to have the players we have to command fees that probably will go, the difference this season is that from any money made, I suspect most will go back into building a new squad. That isn't to say it'll guarantee us success, though.
How many others in this division spent about £4m in the last window? I'm not saying we are massive but in comparison to most in this league, we are big.

I think they will get promoted..they have a clever knack of getting out of league 1
They beat Wednesday to automatic promotion 2 years ago aswell and there will be no pressure on them from the fans
2nd place for me

Evans will be under pressure to get them back up after signing so many lads early doors. Their fanbase will expect it too.
Rotherham are by no means a guaranteed automatic shoo-in, but they won’t rollover and have their belly tickled like last year either.

They all signed already, but they on holiday and won't start till pre season. If we sign a few in the next few weeks we will be the same

Other than Clarke-Harris (at a real push) I wouldn't be blown away by any of their other recruits joining Town. From what I can tell, it looks like a group of fairly run-of-the-mill League One players. We are bigger and far more attractive, and as a result should be aiming higher.
I'd rather we get our recruitment right than just bring in numbers and frees for the sake of it.

They've known what division they'd be in since February, but so did we in 2019 and did fuck all to prepare for the Championship.
Rotherham deserve credit for taking advantage of the upside of a shitty situation.

Let's be honest, our activity in the transfer market has hardly covered the Directors of Football or the club in glory in recent windows.

Any other club won the league three times in a row, FA Cup, two seasons in PL in last decade? Championship play off recently? Gazillionnaire owner?

Just been through Rotherham after work and saw their 2024/25 open top bus celebrations. Steve Evans had his pants around his ankles again
