Happy with this, getting the Posh knobbers out of the way early doors. Catch them cold with an opening day win.

Fuck me surely we aren’t already saying that these fixtures are too hard. Go there and stuff the bastards Impossible to even consider given we have no idea who will be playing for us. If you use the players already here, you can only equate them to last seasons performances🤔 Revisit this one in 3 weeks or so, see if we have a clearer picture of a starting 11???

Looking at that fixture list, can see why I relinquished the season card this time around. Barnsley at home early October will likely be my first game of the season watching in the flesh.

There’ll be loads of comings and goings these next few weeks once it all kicks in. If the season started Saturday, I couldn’t see the team from last season finishing any higher than halfway up in League 1 we were that poor most of the time.

Wrexham just over 20 minutes from where I live. Got no chance of getting a ticket for that though.

No home midweek fixture before Wigan on 3rd December - and excluding Christmas and Easter, there's only 3 home midweek fixtures in total, currently (Birmingham 28/01 & Wrexham 04/03).

Bugger, Crawley Town away 9th November; problem is that is my mum’s 101st birthday that day so we could all be up in Birstall.

My post was simply saying we have a new manager who has used possession or reasonably direct tactical approaches at different clubs. Our squad now might have trouble with a more direct approach to attacking and would fall over badly trying to go through the thirds. Its therefore hard to guess how we would go on without significant changes in personell. There was nothing last season that you could point to and say that would work better, he would be great, in a lower division.?? The current players with a new manager and having got over the dreadfull relegation may turn up and play far better personally and as a team?

So, are we lumping on Stevenage to take the Lg1 title then? Or does that only work in the Championship? (I genuinely have Peterborough down as my tip for the title this season) I have them down for promotion too HUDDERSFIELD TOWN (champions) Rotherham United (second) Peterborough United(playoff winners) Birmingham will lose in the playoff semis to either Posh or Bolton

1. Town 2. Brum 3. Bolton but hope its Barnsley
We need to make it back at the first time of asking. Then it will be the reset we needed and we go again next season back in the championship where we belong.

There will be more. Although there's no formal international break, most teams at this level have enough players called up to postpone fixtures during those international breaks.

Looking at that list I have no fear of playing any side and no sense of a 'tough run' - makes a nice change.....

I think we have appointed a decent manager, certainly for a League 1 level, which is a good start but I still think we have a bang average group of players a few individuals aside. It’s all pretty academic really though as I’m expecting us to strengthen in several areas and the team that ended last season to be quite different to the team that starts this coming one.

Are some of these earlier fixtures subject to move for Sky?

Are some of these earlier fixtures subject to move for Sky? Plenty are under the new broadcast deal (under which we get limited money, but maximum faff).

Wrexham away on a Tuesday night! Blackpool away in the middle of January! At least the Blackpool game is on a Saturday M62T , should be plenty of spare accommodation in January for those Town fans making a weekend out of the fixture, the illuminations should be still on too! I fancy the Orient away game in October, always a great day out.

A sunny afternoon at Charters Bar prior to the season opener sounds ideal to me. Just a pity that away terrace is no more.
