Gambling on football adds to it for me, i even make a small profit. What is wrong with gambling is they target “losers” anyone who wins eventually is turned away. I’m banned from all promotional offers for example. But they bombard those that lose money with marketing and offers. They know who lose on the slot games. The whole model works on taking lots of money off small numbers of people. Agree completely. They love folks who do such as accumulators, and that's why they push them so much. Sure, now and then someone wins a massive amount, but it's like saying someone wins the lottery or euro-millions. It's a fluke. Look at how they've changed the odds for winning the Premier League since Leicester won it. You'll never see odds of 5000-1 again. I rarely bet, still have two online accounts, but think my last bet was Wagners first full season. After seeing the home game against Boro when he took over, where we battered them but lost 1-2, I bet on a top half and top six finish, fairly large sum on top half at evens and £25 on top six at I think 6-1. Came away with a very very decent profit. Don't think I've had a bet since. Mind I've always had this "theory" that if one bet o £10 on every town home game to end 4-0 to Town, most seasons you'd come out ahead as they're around 36-40 to 1 for that result. I have not fact checked how often that would have applied, but even getting relegated we managed it against Wednesday.

Yep no probs mate, you can bet on owt in the game now, from what colour y fronts Kane will wear next game to how many times Southgate will rub his chin within a 10 second period, players get sucked into gambling, why on the money they earn unrealike TBH, I said another commodity, just another headline you see all the time. Var as been good at the euros, well a bit of improvement on the prem games, I know times move on and I will always love the game, but it's getting more difficult each year for me at 58, Victor Meldrew or not, these headphone wearing overpaid prima Donnas who dont give can crap are not exactly what you give your time to see, they even do that in Bradford Park Ave league, team spirit all gone. As abba would sing MONEY X3

I can understand why Ray Winstone would be the face of a betting company, but it really pisses me off when loads of ex footballers earn money from promoting these shysters. I think it’s Paul Merson who really has a go at these people, because they’ll know the problems it’s caused to their team mates over the years. I've seen Paul Merson on Skybet ads! Bonkers. The new laws that will let the gambling companies share information on customers will be completely mis-used to target the people like myself who make a bit of a side income from gambling.

Remember finishing work one Sunday afternoon and being a bit bored watching a Premier league game so decided to bet on the amount of corners in the second half, had something like £8 in the online account so thought I'd use that to pass the time. One thing led to another, found myself on the casino part of the website and I was about £400 down by the time the game finished. I'd started chasing losses and kept on LOSING! Got totally out of hand and other than say the grand national or fa cup final I won't bet. Even then it's never more than £10. But why stop at banning cigarette, alcohol and now betting adverts? Britain's got an obesity crisis. Should we stop advertising energy drinks, pop companies, crisps, biscuits, sweets on football shirts and advertising boards too? Obesity linked deaths in the UK will be higher than gambling addictions. bad news for anyone that is a 35 stone, Seabrook, Ben Shaws, Hobnob loving, wine gum chomping, Embassy Regal puffing, Carlsbery supping, Bet Fred (there are others!), fat bar steward , who bets on anything that moves. (not that they will , much) Only ray of sunshine - there probably isnt a football shirt that will fit them, so they wont be a walking advert for all things bad

I’ve tried to explain why a gambling addiction is different to certain other addictions. In the palm of your hand, you have something that can get out of hand very quickly, and you won’t ’get full’, or fall asleep comatose as you might do with those addictions.
As for food, I was passing through town yesterday, don’t do that v often. Market Sq has loads of delivery drivers/cyclists just waiting for their next order.
I’m sure the lobbyists for the food industry are collectively more powerful than the gambling industry.
It makes me thankful I’m not in my teens or early twenties, and being mercilessly bombarded by these companies, based on how social media companies manipulate your data to target you.
I don’t think Government stand much of a chance any more, it must be difficult to rein in and apply controls on certain things.
