Ruud gullit (face of sensible soccer) David platt (face of the original fifa) Lombardo (I remember him being very bald) Gordon banks (pele said he’s the only keeper to ever save a goal not a shot!) I still can’t get my head around how he saved it! Gazza (just unreal the best naturally talented footballer of my generation) Romario (Barcelona legend when I was growing up) Baggio (his pony tail!)

Le Tissier deserves a mention too. He may or may not be a bit of a tinfoil hatter these days but some of the goals he scored over the years were truly magical. He had his own feature on MOTD called "Goal Of The Month"- great soundtrack from The Lightning Seeds too.
If Hoddle had taken him and Gascoigne to France 98 instead of donkeys like David Batty, there would probably be two stars on the England shirt now.

Gazza. Naturally talented accurately describes him. A talent that you’d pay to watch and a personality that for a time unified the football nation.

How Le Tiss didn't have an England team built around him will remain a mystery, outstanding footballer, one of the best I've seen at Leeds Road**. Single-handedly tore us a new one in the away leg. ** May have been the Mac, I'm getting old

Don Bradman. Never saw him play, but I'd have loved to see him bat. With a lot of the sporting hereos of yesteryear its always asked how would tbey fair today, with modern equipment, fitness regimes, pitches etc would they be even better or would modern day opponents be equal or better anyway.

It is a different game today and I do wonder if they would fit in not having gone through the sausage machine that the academy kids do today. Even if they did fit would the thing that made them special then be drummed out of them now, still making them a professional but no longer special.
