I will be speaking to the former Town player Daral Pugh shortly. Pugh played for the club from 1982 to 1985 and was part of the 1982-83 promotion team. Does anyone have any memories of him, or anything they'd like to ask him? Good to have you back from exile! Remember Pugh well, small but quick, typical tricky winger. Who is the player top centre in the photo? Memory must be failing me.

Doyle and Wilson...known 'affectionately' (at Battyeford Boys Club) as Wrack and Ruin by my mate's dad Over 40 years ago, but a memory as clear as day Recall Roy Ellam once saying about those two “couldn’t pass the salt or pepper “ This expression has come to mind a lot when watching our midfield in the past few years 😡

Yes I think it is! Remember him scoring with a diving header to help knock First Division QPR out of the FA cup. Here's another occasion - both players scored too! Daral Pugh and Kevin Stonehouse (Town v Portsmouth) (Varley Picture Agency: 3 Dec 1983) “Kevin Stonehouse congratulates Daral Pugh on his goal. Later in the match Stonehouse scored himself.” (From my website)

From memory, wasn’t Pugh the ‘makeweight’ in the deal that took Tracy Austin to Doncaster? Unfortunately for Pugh his game time at Town was limited for a couple of reasons: 1) he wasn’t Brian Stanton - he was a more traditional winger in the way that Cowling was. 2) Town’s system at the time relied on width, but whereas this was provided from the left in the traditional way with Cowling, the right hand side relied on Mally Brown overlapping, leaving Stanton to arrive late after setting up the one-two which got Brown in behind the full back.

Remember him as a tidy little player.
But like a few commentators (above,) I reckon Brian Stanton was one of the best midfielders Town have ever had, and Pugh wasn’t in his class.
Also remember Donny fans being well pissed off that they sold him to us.

Scored a great goal at Maine Road in a 3-2 win in 83/84.

Remember him destroying a Newcastle full back up at St James park in 83 in their promotion year A fabulous game which we lost 5-2 , should have been a least a couple ahead at half time. Kevin Stonehouse missed a bag full of chances. Beardsley , Keegan, McDermott and Waddle got their goals. Most defeats are instantly forgotten but that was a great game where we went behind , came back twice only to concede three late on. I was at that game up there. Keegan scored early on then we got back into it with rare long range goal from Phil Wilson and if memory serves me right Paul Jones got the other from a corner so we went in 2-2 at HT. But Waddle and their other winger destroyed us in the Second Half. Great game though.

Honestly can't remember the game....just the cold. Only surpassed by a new years day game at Grimsby. And possibly a game at Blackpool in a temporary stand in 2000s. Plus I remember the stereotypical lad at Newcastle asking for a quid to look after dad's car. Strange isn't it how sharp memories from 40 years ago can be but I have no idea what I had for tea today. Remember away at Watford in the league cup in early 80s. 2-2. Taken straight from school in dad's new car. Fuck that's nostalgia

Daral speaks very highly of the Town fans and says he still feels a bit sad when he's in the area and sees that Leeds Road is no longer there.

Great player and IIRC he scored a cracking winner in a 2-1 win over Pompey? Massive crowd I seem to remember that day.
It was a loooong time ago so I could be wrong!
