I’m reasonably internet savvy but for anybody who isn’t cannot you simply print off the email ticket that will be sent out next week and scan that at turnstiles ? Yes. Some people need to get with the times. Missing Town games because you ‘can’t be arsed with all that Google stuff’ is either ridiculously lazy, or you aren’t that bothered for watching the games. Some people don't want to be bothered with all that though. I'm 47, I'm no technophobe but I have no interest in tech at all, I find it absolutely boring. I set my 'wallet' up on my phone but I've never used it once, not once, have no real intention of using it either unless I really have to. What if you lose your phone? What if it breaks? My life relies heavily enough on my phone without even more reliance.

Getting most printers to bloody work is harder than just saving it to your phone wallet. To be honest, I'm 72 in September and much prefer the whole digital stuff. Bank with Starling, why folks want to queue in banks baffles me, but could understand it with my dad who was 88 and those of a similar age. Yep I know they're spying on me, don't give a jot at 72, maybe if I was 20 that would seem important. Instant notification, facial I.D. that actually works on the brand of phone folks love to hate, instant switch off of the card when you get pissed and forget where you left it, so no need to report it lost, when you know it'll turn up two seconds after. Oh and I scan my own shopping as I go round too, which will make me the devil in some's eyes. ( I just find it easier to bag as I go, shopping is my job, beats bloody ironing and the wife hates it) Through the checkout in seconds, whilst others are scanning every item and trying to find enough room to pu them on the other side. ( Oh and I'm honest, don't think I've had the five item check in a year) OK So! I like technology., Sorry about long sentence, dog dying to get out for his walk as he refuses to dump in the garden for some unknown reason, but field across the road o.k. Personally, I think that's right. I like being able to have tickets on my phone as I once had to fork out to replace a ticket that was sat on my table at home & once had to turn round 20 miles from home because even though I'd remembered to put it in my jacket pocket, I then left my jacket on my mate's settee when I picked him up.
I have an 86yo mother-in-law who can send text & WhatsApp messages, take photos on her phone, etc., so I don't think generally speaking it's all that onerous.
Where I fall out with the idea (as talked about above) is when that's the ONLY option.

My life relies heavily enough on my phone without even more reliance. My phone also has a sim card lock on it. As I said technology so far doesn't bother me too much. If I lose it or break it, then obviously I'd have to get another. In the meantime stuff will be safe, and I have a laptop and can check them on that if needed. I far more often forget my Secrid credit card holder with my cards in it. If I only had that and lost it, I've got theoretically five phone calls to make to cancel two debit cards and three credit cards. ( Emergency First Direct current account as well as Starling....one reads enough stuff about current accounts being locked, so can't be too careful.) As it happens, I wouldn't have to make the phone calls in a rush, because I can lock all the cards on my phone. Fair enough though, I understand your point. My wife won't use her wallet either, but is perfectly happy to use mine when she needs something and neither of us have anything else. She does pay me back. ( never had a joint account, works for us)

There are far more serious issues to discuss though about Peterborough away. So which pubs are people heading for?

That's where I'm at. I'll use tech if I need to but I want the option for old-school alongside it. Any company that's card only or refuses to accept cash generally doesn't get my business. Not that they care though

What if you lose your paper ticket? More likely to lose that than your phone. You are the same age as me. I do like tech and I’m not bored by it. People are different. Most grounds are automated turnstiles anyway, can’t wait for it to become eye recognition to let you in, you’ll have a fit 😀

Stopped off at Bourne & Stamford a couple of times when driving down, on train pub outside station is a Wetherspoons.......Never really gone round the Town much with ground five minutes from train.

Surely someone in a travelling group are not scared of digital tickets? If you’re travelling alone you e obviously mastered things a lot harder than a phone.
At some point i’m sure the EFL/ Premier League will launch some kind of app that makes it much simpler like they have just used for the Euros.
Are we expecting this to sell out today?

This ticket website is a fucking farce. It is a bit ridiculous. Clicking on find tickets just seems to take you to your profile preferences page. You can then click on the small tickets button above 'update profile' which takes you to the seating map for the game where you can select your seats. Took me a while to work that out after going back and forth plenty of times. The hyperlinks definitely need sorting out on there.

I don't get all this Google Play or Wallet haven't a clue what it is all about so i won't be going to any away games, all this modern technology to me is just bollocks and down to one thing, saving money. The wallet is very handy and easy once you know how. I was similarly unimpressed to start with but it's pretty straightforward. Also good for train tickets. You should be able to add stuff with one click then access with one click. No messing about looking in emails etc and having to print. The time and noise our printer takes to print one sheet makes using wallet look very straightforward!

It obviously let me in early I also got on around 9;45 though it went that slow and kicked me out that iv ended up row x towards halfway line, not that suppose it matters. Guess could have taken more time as still looks to be around 300 or so left

Using technology for me makes life easier but the app for the euros ticket wise was an absolute pain in the arse. When your abroad and using your phone for Google maps etc running down the battery quickly and the kick off is late 9pm so extremely easy to run down your battery and the ticket gets downloaded 2 hours before kickoff via WiFi to your phone ( struggle to get a connection your fucked) seemed so excessive just to stop folk selling tickets on . Much easier just sending it to your wallet days before. Don’t really get the app shit for tickets . Just get it on purchase and put it in your Apple wallet.

No wifi connection required to get tickets out and such an easy option to find tickets . ( rather than searching for emails)
