Done, looking forward to seeing the results.
Would also be interested if you could show the opposite as well and also show what percentage of people in Huddersfield support each club

Done. As above, should have where did you grow up and where do you live now as separate questions. In some parts of the country, people are more likely to relocate to get the right job for them. Also some clubs are more likely to attract fans from outside its catchment but the survey has no way of separating the two. Grew up in Birstall, moved across here from Gomersal to help the wife look after her parents.

As an example, I was born and raised in Huddersfield, but moved to Coventry when I was 25. Essentially, the club didn't attract me from outside the area - they attracted me from well within it and you don't switch allegiance just because you move house.

However, this survey is about where people are right now. This reveals a lot of interesting data about how support for your club has spread around the UK and overseas. You will see it in the results.

Yeah. I answered Coventry. Just thought I'd add a bit of context.

Born and grew up in Dewsbury, Bennett Lane. Luckily for me my dad was on the books at Huddersfield as junior, but unfortunately he never made it past that. Even though he's from Morley he took me to watch Huddersfield rather than to other lot, thank god👍 Joined the RAF in 1979 so not really lived down there since and have no family down there anymore but will make the "Pilgrimage" three or four times again this year no doubt.

Would improve the survey though. Just to highlight the clubs who get large amounts of support from people with no actual ties to the city...Man Utd and Liverpool being obvious ones but even someone like Leeds still attract a lot of fans who've no ties to the Leeds area. Id imagine in our case 99%+ of our supporters live in the immediate area of Huddersfield and if they dont they and/or their family used to. Cant imagine we have many fans with no direct links to the town.

Done. Originally from Grantham. Live in Melton Mowbray. My late father is from moldgreen. Although my dad left Huddersfield physically to be with my mother huddersfield never left him and weirdly that connection has been installed in me. I feel a strong connection with the town everytime I come up and I’ve been coming up since 1985. What I’ve noticed is Melton has a few town fans here which is nice. Hopefully they complete the survey too. UTFT!

I don’t think place of birth has any real relevance in this survey, but agree that the place you grew up in might have added to it. In my case I happened to be born in Dewsbury simply because Moorlands Maternity Home was a common place for births in the 1950’s. I’ve never lived in Dewsbury and have no affiliation with it whatsoever. I grew up in Birstall, midway between Leeds and Huddersfield and that will always be home to me even though I’ve not lived there since going to university in 1973; my mum and sister still live there. I support Town because my dad took me to them first (v Middlesbrough 30/3/65). My second game was Leeds but that was already too late. Umm, like you I haven't lived in Huddersfield since 1973 when I was 21 and I'm 72 in September. I'm born and bred Huddersfield, lived in Grange Moor and Lepton for my first 21 years, and it's pretty important to me. Dad was not into football, I got into watching town with friends from the then Mirfield Grammar School, not the one that pretends it's a Grammar these days, and I always played. Seems it skipped a generation as these things often do, my Grandad also played for teams and had 9ct gold medals so can't have been bad. When we had our son we lived in Essex, and it was Southend I took him to, a team he still supports to this day, so where you're born can be of importance. No matter how much I tell him it's ok to support dads team, who are lets be honest and have been for most of their days tons better than Southend, it makes not a jot. He'll come if dads paying, we both live in North East, want them to win, unless against Southend of course, but he supports the team where he was born, like me. He was though born in Maldon, but I'm not sure how relevant that is. By the time he was old enough to go to matches, we lived in Southend. I guess it depends on whether the place where you live has a football league team or whatever. Most of Stockton on Tees support Boro six miles away, but Stockton has a perfectly good team in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Yes I have been a few times, but it's not Town. The time though will be coming, where getting to Town is too much hassle. In reality, I'll probably watch nobody, it's just not in the blood.

Done. I grew up in Huddersfield but left the town for university in 1985. Settled in Ilkeston, Derbyshire now but, like others have said, you don't swap your team. My son, having been born here, is a Town fan - mainly because I got to him before my husband and his family could persuade him to support Derby.

This is fast becoming an excellent thread. Born and raised in Huddersfield (Lindley / Newsome / Edgerton), then Wakey, Tockwith. 30 odd years around Ipswich & Felixstowe. Now in that den of iniquity known as Worthing. OAPs on street corners shooting up Sanatogen, dealers sidling up to you whispering "Wanna score some Werthers?"

Live now in Clifton. Spent many years abroad in far flung corners of the world mostly in countries torn apart by war or near military bases . Was brought up in Brighouse and love the rolling green hills of Yorkshire. You appreciate how beautiful our country is when you’ve lived away from it. Huddersfield town is in my soul and I luckily have introduced that passion to my boy. UTT.
