No idea how we've managed to get ahead in this. I think we've been better team in second half

So why did we just smash Emley and Guiseley? A mate of mine plays for Emley and he said the amount of time they got on the ball was crazy! Like I said we do need to change things up, but it’s mental to just say they can’t pass at any level 😂 Because they are fucking pub teams. It's mental to expect shite players to become good just because they've gone down a level. Some of those players are League Two players at best and yet here we are, talking about promotion and "winning more than we lose". Some people are going to be in for a shock this season if this squad stays largely as it is. I just gave you a good example in Rotherham.. Anyway, luckily I expect quite a few more changes before the season starts.

Awful scrappy game, impossible to come to any conclusions regarding Town's prospects this coming season. Hertha Berlin, committing lots of niggly fouls, once Town get the ball and go into attack mode!

I know it’s pre season but I’m far from impressed from what I’ve seen so far. Also this is majority made up of Hertha Berlins B team too Hardly any of this Hertha is B team players at least 8 was first team players all last season for them so we have done well this game to be fair!

Interesting that since there has been wholesale changes, we seem to be able to pass now.

Takes from the game. Sorensen and miller must starts for wing back.Much more energy and quality on the ball. Kasumu gives the ball away an absolutely ridiculous amount. Wiles struggled when Kasumu was on the pitch…seemed to wake up and improve once he went off. Kane and evans tidy and can see better quality passers of ball, yet to work out how to get them on the ball in dangerous areas. Can’t remember us working a proper chance for Healey in any of the friendlies. Looked a lot less leggy but still very disjointed at times. I had others but iv forgotten 😂 Personal opinion we defo need a striker with some genuine pace and skill to stretch teams vertically. For me I’d be looking at bringing in a defensive midfielder.Pacey and better on ball than Kasumu been the requirements. Be interested to see what duff says after this one.

Huddersfield Town htafc#htafc 1-0 HBSC Town enjoying a couple of set plays in the final third, with Ben Wiles taking both - a corner and a free kick, which Hertha have defended well. 📺 To repair the earlier issue, our live match stream is now FREE to access through your MyTown account. Generally a satisfactory performance for pre-season.
Worked hard and well organised.
Much better off the ball than when we had it.
Rarely threatened however and their goalie had little to do. Obviously only a friendly, but we are miles from being a promotion winning team.
Broken record - we need a midfield general and another one, idealy two, strikers.

Add to that a new CB who can perform the role we brought Balker in to do. Only not made of glass.

If Duff and the coaches got what they wanted either positive or any negatives then it was fully worthwhile. Another game played in the most competetive way possible to us in pre season is good. Work to do, always is, always should be and thankfull we still have a couple of weeks to do it.

I was there today, good turnout from both sets of fans.
Soon as we put on Miller and Sorensen, it changed the game completely. Don’t know if people could hear it on stream but Pearson was constantly shouting at Sobra to get into position. Him and Headley didn’t look comfortable at all first Half
Ward is non existent. Needs to go ASAP.
Played some decent football imo and we looked comfortable. Lees looked solid when coming on.
Negatives are and will be this season; it’s too easy for teams to counter attack us due to the formation we are playing. Hertha Berlin were constantly playing long balls over the top to catch out our defence. Same happened against Harrogate, something needed to be worked on before Peterborough.
Desperately need a striker alongside JK/ Healey, we aren’t sharp enough going forward.
Wiles was excellent second half
Evan’s was a bit anonymous.
Bring on Lecce 🍺⚪️🔵

We beat a fairly strong Hertha side who play Cardiff later today (6pm) & then start Bundesliga 2 campaign a week on Saturday at home to Paderborn who smashed the Brummies 5 nowt last week.......Town will be evens favourites for L1 title if Berlin win that one!

Clearly things to work on, but a good sign that we seemingly haven’t played well and managed to come away with a win against good opposition - 8 regulars from a side that finished 9th in Bundesliga 2 suggests that Hertha side is stronger than many we’ll face this campaign.

Ben Jackson not involved in the last two friendlies. Wonder if there’s any interest in him?

Ben Jackson not involved in the last two friendlies. Wonder if there’s any interest in him? Could just be down to the competition for RB/RWB Sorensen, Thomas, Turton, Pearson(?), Eccleston, Turton & obviously Jackson

It’s not even just that, they are serial can’t pass. Kasumu gives the ball away/can’t pass, Pearson is awful with passing, Sorba turns his back and doesn’t track his runner, Koroma missed two opportunities to play Ward in., Ward hasn’t touched the ball. It just looked more of the same, these players are fucking depressing. KN needs to do much more work in this transfer window, we need 5+ players in and quick smart. Left foot CB that can dictate play, a DM, another CM, 2 strikers at a minimum. Yeah, but he'll be "more than good enough in League One". I suggested he was a clogger last week and loads disagreed. I've no idea what some people watch, to be honest. Agree, not sure why we think someone who struggles to complete a 5 yard pass in the Championship is going to tear it up in League 1. Although to be fair it’s the same folk thinking Ward will be great this season.

Down the sides of the centre halves if we are playing miller and Sorensen as full backs will always be targeted by opposition, therefore we need to be supremely drilled to react better or make sure we have the recovery pace in those positions to negate it. When we lose the ball upfield also we still seem caught in two minds as when to go get it back and press quickly or when to drop into shape.Hopefully these issues get largely ironed out before game 1

Jackson is absolutely crap, another one in the Austerfield, High, Rowe, Duhaney, Critchlow, Schofield group of much vaunted worldbeaters who are League 2 / National League standard.

I want to know why the Herta fans were allowed on the pitch at full time for their photo opportunity yet there seemed to be no opportunity for Town fans to do the same.
