Commentators have had too many Austrian beers, we have been bang average and they are going on like we are prime Barcelona. Thomas shite again, hope he’s going to Nantes as he doesn’t fit this system at all. Pushing the narrative.I wish they’d just just call it as they see it. We have been average yes.passing not very slick at all, however neither has the oppositions been, the two pitches we’ve played on both looks like they could have done with a slight trim and miles more water on them tbh though, every pass along the deck seems to just grab and hold up.

It's still the broken biscuit assortment up front. Another season of averaging a goal a match beckons.

Why are people surprised that players who have been rubbish for years are still...rubbish? Serial losers. It’s not even just that, they are serial can’t pass. Kasumu gives the ball away/can’t pass, Pearson is awful with passing, Sorba turns his back and doesn’t track his runner, Koroma missed two opportunities to play Ward in., Ward hasn’t touched the ball. It just looked more of the same, these players are fucking depressing. KN needs to do much more work in this transfer window, we need 5+ players in and quick smart. Left foot CB that can dictate play, a DM, another CM, 2 strikers at a minimum.

We still can’t keep the ball. Every turnover has been given straight back to Berlin. The press was decent but pointless if you are just going to possession straight back.

Shit players playing shit shocker! I don't understand football fans. They can literally watch a full season of matches, where the players are absolutely rubbish, and then it comes to the next season and they seem to think that these players are going to stop being rubbish all of a sudden because it's a new season. You wouldn't apply that to any other job. If I'm shite at software testing, then I'm not going to automatically become good at it because it's a new year.

Will we ever have another midfielder like Aaron mooy who could control the tempo of the game ?
Wiles on the left ?
Sorba has offered a sum total of nothing.
Helik our best player by a country mile.
Headley continues to get caught in possession. When is he going to learn ?

I've no idea what some people watch, to be honest.

We have needed a quality striker for 5/6 years but seem to se this as a no no. Plenty of attaching wingbacks and midfielders who will fill the bench but no striker to put the ball in the net. Puzzling

How many times do you seen teams been utterly awful to sack the manager and get a new one and all of a sudden they can play football again. Doesn’t really seem to be the case with us just yet like 🤷🏻

But that was more a case of him being brilliant than the players being any good. Same with Warnock.

Poor analogy to be fair - if you weren’t great at testing a really complex solution but half decent at a less advance version, would that make you shite still? (Even though your profession may be more black and white). How many times have Rotherham dropped from the Championship, then smashed League 1 the following season, with little to no investment and a similar squad? I do agree we need to shift players on and buy more, but it’s not ridiculous to think some of these players can perform in a lower league with a new manager.

We've needed quality strikers, like someone mentioned above, for a number of seasons, but either don't have the money or the ability to sign them. We were desperate in January but Cartwight could only come up with Bojan and Healey!!!! What are we really expecting. January transfer window was a disaster. And yet Cartwright still kept his job.

They always say you shouldn't read too much into a preseason friendly - so I'm trying not to. But I do have a few observations.
In the last two games we've looked really vulnerable on the counter, particularly to cross-field balls in behind.
We look fairly fit already, but our pressing isn't as organised as I'd like.
We're looking poor on the ball again. Both at moving the ball forwards, and retaining it to sometimes take the pace out of games in moments that need it.
We're lacking a midfielder who is both capable of breaking up play and passing the ball well. Our defenders are so poor with distributing, and it feels very samey. Reminds me a little of last season when we just moved the ball left to right, and back again.
Our movement up front is not dynamic enough.

If I turned up to work and couldn't even switch the machine on, then yeah I'd be shite no matter what sort of testing I was doing. A number of these players cannot pass a ball. They literally cannot pass a ball to their own teammates. It doesn't matter what level they are playing at. Passing a ball is one of the most basic skills of football and yet some of our players seem so incapable of doing it. I don't think it's ridiculous to think that no matter what level they play at, they still won't be able to pass a ball.

Well this is depressing reading! Can someone cheer us up by telling us Hertha were in the Europa League or something so it's understandable they're out classing us.
What's also depressing is that in order to get any town news or interviews you seemingly need to pay 5 quid a month to Steven Chicken. Progress.

You think these players have made it out of 100’s of thousands of players when they can’t pass the ball? The speed and time on the ball gets increasingly reduced the higher the level you go. It’s one of the reasons the best players in the world are so impressive.

I can see why you get so frustrated sometimes.

It's mental to expect shite players to become good just because they've gone down a level. Some of those players are League Two players at best and yet here we are, talking about promotion and "winning more than we lose". Some people are going to be in for a shock this season if this squad stays largely as it is.
