Another Facebook rumour. No idea of the veracity of it, but I never do.
Personally I don't see the point of bringing in yet another right footed CB.

Wasn’t this going around pretty much straight after the season ended, even with a Maynard like?
Is it back on again? Hope not, if we’re after a CB I’d prefer one with a bit of pace, we’ve got plenty of slow ones 😂

Thought he was going to Blackburn because they're struggling to get a deal done for Cooper?

But they would have to offer something that we don't already have. What would he offer that we don't have in Helik, Pearson, Lees, Turton, Ayina and Spencer? We're not short of experience at the back. We're not short of goal threat from there. If he was younger, left footed, pacy and comfortable on the ball then let's get him in, but I can't see the logic of this. To put it another way; I wouldn't want us using any of our budget to bring Will Boyle back for a third spell - even if he was a free agent - but it would make more sense to me than this. Hopefully it's a non-starter.

I can’t see us signing another CB unless Helik leaves.

TBF it would make some sense to sign Batth if they (or more to the point Helik) did go.

Is anyone that played in the defence of a relegated Championship team too good for league 1? It has happened to Helik twice.

Could anyone who played in goals for a side with the 2nd worst record in Championship history be classed as too good for Lg1? Sam Morsy and Reece James were both in the same relegated Wigan side. They are probably too good for Lg1! There are many reasons why we were relegated. Helik not being good enough was not one of them.

Aaron Ramsdale got two Premier League relegations with Sheff United and Bournemouth, conceding a huge amount of goals. He also happened to be both their player of the season, and the signed for a significant fee for Arsenal. I’d say he’s too good for the Championship..

Michael Duff said in his recent interview with Steven Chicken, "We've been offered loads of players in the twilight of their careers, we don't want that".
I think we can rule this one out now.

The main reason I’m confident we can do well next season is because Helik is still with us. If he goes, we are significantly weakened, he’d be very difficult to replace, he’s genuine Championship quality and we don’t have many who are.

I’m relieved with this one to be honest.
He’s experienced and technically would be decent for League 1 but he doesn’t have any pace. I think that’s what we need in the CBs at this point
