If we're serious about promotion, we need to be offloading these types of players. So it's encouraging that this is finally being recognised by the powers that be.

Same as how some fans seem to think these poor players aren't poor at all, they just need a run in the side. Imagine how much money we've wasted over the last few years signing cheap rubbish, we could have signed one player with decent pedigree instead. |

I’m guessing Town (Nagle) have had little option but to make a pay off to Simpson so that it will be easier for him to find another club by now being prepared to accept a lower salary. Probably they’ll have to do the same with Hudlin, High and others?

Problem is other clubs also know they're crap so it's not a good situation to be in You could argue that if they aren't good enough and aren't going to play but we have to pay them anyway it might be best to pay them off and have them off the books? Years of loans, free signings and scraping the barrel had to lead to us with a load of deadwood at some point. |

He never cut the mustard, but he never disgraced the shirt either. Hard to criticise the lad because he played the equivalent of about 2 games.

No need to kick him up the arse on his way out. Makes a nice change from the kangaroo court we often see on DATM. |

No need to kick him up the arse on his way out. Makes a nice change from the kangaroo court we often see on DATM. It's a nice post, not kicking his arse. Just don't often see it from a player with 9 or so appearances. They normally come from someone who's played a few games. It's reassuring despite not playing and getting loaned out last season he can still speak highly of the club. |

Just this one occasion the player has put out his statement a bit earlier than the club. Perhaps whatever it is (transfer or release) isn't actually 100% finalised yet? |

Come on. He posted that a couple of hours ago after our media people would have gone. They can’t put things out before they are completely sorted unlike players. We have no idea on the timescales for this. |
