What a remarkable women... never even heard of her. Read an article in the Scottish Field that she had written. Beaten by her teacher at the age of 5 (every day) for playing football with the boys in the playground. Disowned by her mother for putting football before her career. Banned for life by the Scottish FA for playing professionally for AC Milan. Eight Serie A titles, four Coppa Italias, two golden boots and one World Cup playing for Italy. Sporting Witness - Rose ReillyId heard of her in a roundabout way, my mate Yousef’s daughter plays footy up in Glasgow and at school she did a project on women’s football, it mainly concentrated on the advancement of the women’s game in USA n Sweden, she only mentioned footy here n Scotland in passing so I didn’t know all that about her, bloody brilliant n I’ll have to watch those docs a couple posts down 👍 |
