Not in Essex. I scored two goals there once! PS - Just up the road from a village called Ugley, which has never had a women's institute, for some reason.

Good move for Hudlin. Newport County have made some decent loans. I hope to works out for him and he makes an impact.

Pat Jones signed for Exeter on a permanent deal
If he ever gets his hamstrings sorted he should have a decent career as a league 1 player.

Good player is Pat Jones...if fit, and in a system that suits him. Good luck to the lad. He's had appearances where he looked like he had never seen a football before. Also had some where he showed plenty of promise. His pace will always make him a threat but he needs to add more to his game than just kick and run

I really do wish Hudlin all the best at Newport. I think commimg to Town from what was essentially none league football was probably a step too far. On the occassions I saw him (Hull & Coventry away spring to mind) he always seemed to give 100%. Best wishes to the lad going forward.

Not been too impressed but on the flip side I've not seen a player win as many aerial battles at home to Ipswich since Boothy.

Cartwright what rude and obnoxious comment on Pat Jones departure. Why rude? Hes stating a fact.... the lad can play a bit but hasnt done enough to warrant playing regularly here and his fitness record is poor. Hope he has a decent career elsewhere and goid luck but correct decision imho.

I actually thought all the press release comments from Cartwright were pretty fair. I’d even say refreshingly transparent tbh. When I read the closing paragraph about wishing him well and him being welcome at the club that tactically sounded sincere to me rather than a cliché as it usually does.
Huddersfield Town Sporting Director Mark Cartwright commented:
“Graduating from our Academy with a strong reputation both on and off the field, Pat’s initial impact was really promising, but unfortunately he hasn’t been able to replicate that enough in the past two seasons.
“Having struggled for fitness and consistency since stepping up to First Team level, Pat hasn’t been able to fulfil the promise he showed coming through the Academy, and would require a role bigger than we’re able to provide him to be able to recapture that, so this is a move that is in the best interests of all involved.
“Pat leaves with our collective best wishes after displaying a commendable level of effort and commitment in his time with us, and he is always welcome back at the Club.”

What he said about Sorba Thomas was true too. That we wanted to maintain his value and the move to Nantes could do that. He’s since been recalled to the Wales squad so that move has started well for Town. These statements are well considered and authentic.
Huddersfield Town Sporting Director Mark Cartwright commented:
“Sorba has been misunderstood in the past, there’s an idea of him that’s prevalent which isn’t a fair reflection of who he is. By giving him the opportunity to play in a top five league in the world abroad, he has the chance to explore a new challenge, to concentrate on his game and remind people of what he’s capable of on the pitch.
“Having signed a long-term deal with the Club, he still has several years remaining on his contract with us. While we have worked with him to find a move this summer knowing it was in our collective best interests, having seen him improve so much since joining us and become an international footballer, we continue to value him extremely highly.
“Everyone at the Club wishes Sorba all the best for his loan with Nantes, and we’ll be watching on with a keen eye.”

Unless he is going to be used as a sub, I don't see why High hasn't got a move.
He is either that bad nobody wants him, or Duff sees him as a squad player.

Its a shame that Pat Jones did not make it at Town, I had high hopes for him, but injuries have hampered his career so far. I like others hope he rekindles his career at the Grecians.

Had high hopes for him making it at Town but unfortunately it didn't happen. Let's see what he can do in Div 2 with regular starts.

I know it's easy to criticise some of these lads, Jones, Harratt, Hudlin but they have mainly been bit part players and to establish yourself as a first teamer you need to play games on a regular basis, not play 1 game then get dropped for 5, playing odd cameo roles is no good, players need a run in the team. It hasn't helped that club has been constantly shite for the last 5 years either, constantly trying to stave off relegation snd disaster hindering any chance they had.

I said exactly that with Joe Lolley and got pelters on here but look what he did when given a run. I would rather of given Harratt 5 games instead of Danny Ward for instance. We've invested time and resources on Jones, Harratt but at least give them a run. Jones, just maybe his hamstrings are shot but I hope he finds some love down south. We just don't produce any own grown players which needs to change.

However, if the manager doesn’t see anything worth a shot in those players we are better off getting them off the wage bill and some money in. Harratt would’ve been a decent shout but his off the field behaviour has really got him a millstone round his neck and a fresh start may be what he needs. As for Jones, the same rule applies. Hopefully they can both kick on. I would add that if we are being so ‘brutal’ in getting shot of the kids with no prospects, we need to be doubly brutal with the first teamers who are offering sweet FA too.

Very true Wingman because after only a few games the old transfer window shut I can now sit on my arse doing sod all scenario seems to yet again be returning. Bit like every season the refusal to sign a decent goal scoring striker. I know there was some attempt but learning a lesson from past history there was no plan B
