Sounds like a tinpot solicitor firm that chases ambulances but to be honest I wish we had a couple of solicitors in the middle of the park than these two.
Way too lightweight. Heavens knows how they have become central midfielders.
Their passing is garbage, energy levels poor and they are so physically weak.
I worried about Wiles being mentally weak after his body language last year. Think the same can be said for Evans. They are downtrodden off the ball and rarely show for it. They go missing all the flaming time.
I've played football quite a bit and to a decent ISH level and played with a few who just hide and don't want the ball...it reeks of that with these two.
I hope they improve, I really do because we are going to get overrun so many more times this season.

Yes they have been poor. But for once, can we just leave players alone. What does it actually achieve?
Just creates hatred and anonmosity which can only make things worse.

Both have previously been excellent and consistent for their former clubs. Maybe the problem lies elsewhere?

Oh I thought this was a forum. Silly me. Since when on DATM can we not comment on our players? FFS you snowflake get a grip. They get paid thousands of pounds a week to kick a ball and turn out that shocking performance.

Wholly unfair and a bit pointless to be singling players out at this early stage, especially when nobody (except Koroma) had a good game today, and that in the first 3 (league) games both Wiles and Evans played rather well. If you're determined to direct your frustration at a player(s), then I would say Hogg should be the top of that list.

They could do with someone better than Hogg to pass to them and in the home games they've had to be passed around up to the wing backs to best break down the low blocks. They have been poor in some games but they still have 3 goals and 3 assists between them. I'd like to see them with Hodge or Kane. Also I think they'll still need some time to gel but that won't be an excuse in a couple of weeks time. I still have full faith in them being really important this season.

They may have others pass to them if they actually move. Both are far too static and don't seem brave enough to want to get on the ball.

Both have previously been excellent and consistent for their former clubs. Maybe the problem lies elsewhere? I know you’re name is wildhogg but I was thinking about this after the game. It relates to your point I promise. Hogg has had this list of managers at town Duff, Breitenreiter, Worthington, Moore, Warnock, Fotheringham, Hudson, Schofield, Carlos, Cowleys, Siewert, Wagner, Powell, Robins. Now I've probably forgotten some, but in terms of what’s wrong at town I think it’s fair to suggest Hogg is the constant. Wiles and Evans aren’t good let’s get that right, but when their midfield partner and apparent leader is someone who has had such a losing career at town, I’m not surprised. It’s unfair to blame them when they’re playing with someone who is idolised for having about 3 good seasons at town.

Was expecting a really good player in Evans going by the reviews from Bristol Rovers fans but so far it's looking like we've got another player with a habit of passing it nowhere near his team mates foot.
Hopefully it is just a case of settling in at a new club and learning a new formation/style of play

IMO after good games at at Peterborough they have both gone AWOl in the last three. The whole team has looked disjointed and with no pattern to the play.Midfield is non existent and a couple are certainly hiding. We have resorted to hoof ball up to players who are not physically equipped to play in that way.

Bingo. Glad you said this because apparently I cannot have an opinion on them. Bar that first half game they have been awful and we have reverted to long ball hoofing it past them. I really hope they come good but the signs are concerning for sure.

Any centre mids would look crap in this current system. Gaps between them are ridiculous and instructed!

So we Huddersfield fans cannot have an opinion on some of our players, maybe in years to come there will be no winners or losers!! so everyone goes home happy.

Today was shit. Not once have I said I am happy about it.

All of these midfielders we keep signing can’t all be terrible. Perhaps it’s having a number 6 behind them that can’t control a ball, run or pass it 5 yards that might be the problem.
Club legend but he needs to retire.

Hogg certainly needs to be out of the team at this point and only used if absolutely necessary. He massively hampers our play and fluidity.

Agree that they have, but so have 1 or 2 others. Personally, only Koroma, Nicholls and potentially Miller for me have had acceptable performances in all games they have played. Sorenson also until today.

I really don’t think people truly understand the negative impact Hogg has on the whole team nevermind his two midfield teammates. I was at the game today and fuck me, he’s the central one of the three with the WORST movement I’ve ever seen, stands still and never shows for the ball because his technique isn’t good enough and gets caught on the ball.
Your central DM should be collecting the fucking ball off the CB and turning to find options.
Wiles and Evan’s are running round like headless chickens because their ‘general’ is seriously inept in that role. We are missing Kane badly in that role.
I think it was against Morecambe where Kane played in the 6 role and had an absolute field day taking the ball on the half turn and getting out of pressure with ease, made the game look like an exhibition.
I just can’t understand why Duff doesn’t see it? Surely Iorpenda, or Hodge from the start.
In his short Cameo I thought Hodge looked really good in that role, very agile, moves the ball quickly when needed.
Hogg…. “Leave the football, before the football leaves you”

I wonder if it’s the tactical set up with 3 at the back. We pass it out from the back, Hogg picks up the ball, then everyone is marked and then it’s goes to the left or the right and the wingback either knocks it long or tries to beat a man and often doesn’t come off. Wiles and Evans seems to hardly come to closer to the back 3 to try and pick up the ball and turn. Wiles especially likes to stand there and no move when without the ball. Hodge looked decent. I’d try him for Wiles just try and get some energy in the centre midfield Everyone likes to hang Hogg out to dry for any reason possible. Hogg has his fault and is 35yr old and his legs can look heavy after 75 mins but my goodness he drives a game and gives it some whilst the rest are soft physically and mentally when things are difficult

I must admit that a lot of the Bristol Rovers supporters who said that Evans was rightly their Player of the Season said that it was the first year he had been consistent.
For me he seems determined to show how "macho" he is, fouls, gets booked and is then invisible.
Wiles two excellent matches then back to the Wiles of last season - an irrelevance.

Hogg, Evans and Wiles is not a good enough midfield “even” at this level.
None of them can pass the ball and you don’t even notice them on the pitch for long spells.
Rubbish.
