Like a few others, he was the goalie when I first started watching Town. The Forrest game being my first ever match. 68 is no age really The 3-3 Littlewoods cup match (after drawing 1-1 at their place)with the 2 Clough's and a decent Forest team (which made it all the way to the final and beat Luton) was one the most memorable games I attended at the old Leeds Rd ground.

Can always remember at some away game after saving a pen, the fans singing affectionally.... He's fat, He's round, He's worth a million pound, Stevie Hardwick Stevie Hardwick !!! Not so sure the size accuracy, but defo worth a million pounds back then. Great keeper. R.I.P I remember hearing that chant except the million pounds bit was changed to "he bounces on the ground". Perhaps he'd had a bad game or the away fans were singing it! Lol

Weren't town 3-1 down at one stage but managed to pull it back, Maskell(2) and Cecere for town, fantastic match.

I know that they were the goalscorers but can't remember what order the goals were scored. I think we had nearly a full house of about 13500 because our capacity had been massively reduced at that time.

I remember buying the match vide, filmed from 1 camera angle high up in that box at the top of the stand.

RIP Steve Hardwick, top keeper and was always a favourite. I used to have a photo I had taken with him at an open day at Leeds Rd around 1989

I think the Cowshed was completely closed, there was a huge no man's land between the terrace and the open end. I think the old timber steps providing access to the terrace were fenced off considered unsafe. 13000 capacity in the same ground that had held over 67000. Worth remembering the reality when people use the rose tinted glasses about the old grounds.

I was in it when we played Arsenal and lost 5 0? I think. Ian Wright was on fire. Another restricted capacity I seem to remember May have been Andy Booths debut.
