Fully confident we will achieve promotion by the end of the season. Remember going to pne in the awesome 2016/2017 campaign and coming home thinking so negatively about the teams promotion chances .
The fans just need to be more patience, we will win on Saturday and come the turn of the year folk will see a massive consistency improvement.

Fucking hell, League 2, seriously? Give your head a fucking shake. There's being alarmist, and then there's this. Sorry for being so blunt above, but to even consider the possibility of us getting relegated this season is beyond absurd I started the thread and predicted we would be in this division next season not league 2. Having seen all of our home games this season I can tell you we are way, way off promotion material. Not a controversial opinion at all. The poll backs me up. Really the only 2 options in the poll should have been Championship or L1. I think even you know that. For reference, right now, definitely L1 next season in my view |

Just shows how stupid polls are as well if folk think (9) that we will get relegated and how some town fans opinions really are worthless or are they just being awkward and trying to air their displeasure. Sorry if this offends the 9 but it’s not even the n the equation . Those who try and argue that it is come back in May and have the same conversation . You won’t.

- We have a squad of players that are amongst the most valuable in the division; despite recent shit, there are quality players in the squad - We are not Man City playing like superheros every week.. We will have shit games, put in shit performances and have a patch or few patches where we see a dip (we are in one) - Duff is a proven decent manager at this level and it has been noted his teams sometimes take time to grow into the season - We have a window in January to further enhance the squad - Duff and the players are taking responsibility; they know they have been shite - I have seen and heard more already from Duff to suggest he is better equipped than the previous few managers to get us where we need to be If you read some of the tripe on social media you would think we were rock bottom with no win........ Please come back to this post in May when we finish in the Top 6 and I can say I told you so. Ta. UTFT "We have a window in January to further enhance the squad". Goodness me. apart from being able to argue very convincingly that Mr Cartwright has NOT "enhanced the squad", how many times have we had this "wait till January/the end of the season/until the window closes etc etc" hope. We have simply been let down so many times. Never mind central midfield/pace at the back etc we have been looking for a proven striker for goodness knows how many transfer periods. We now have Freddie for two years. Is this the third September running when we are now looking desperately to the "window in January" ? Aah the old January window. It’s like a mirage in the desert for us. |

If Town's progress over the last ten years were shown on a chart, like the price of shares are in the share market, then chartists who follow such things would be be shorting them. They'd be a strong SELL. Momentum is firmly down and no sign of it stopping.
Local derby with Harrogate to be the highlights of our season in three years anyone? (Bradford having been promoted above us ;o)

I think you have to be realistic we’re currently at par. The size of the club / fan base we’re a top of league 1 bottom of the championship side. In this division Brum, Bolton are bigger than us with Wrexham having impetus and a financial advantage. Reading / Charlton / Barnsley are Similar sized clubs to us also.
What we need is an exceptional owner and manager in order to allow us to outperform, and become a Bournemouth / Brentford / Wrexham for a while.
It hard now because we’ve had our recent days on the sun. But to use the share price analogy - we’re trading at our 50 year average. Maybe we should enjoy being near top of league one for a while rather focusing on a spike in performance 6 years ago, or else all the negativity will see us back in the 4th tier awaiting a saviour like Buxton.

At no point during that season was I in any doubt that we'd go up. Everything was positive about the club from the chairman and manager to the players and fans. This season however is yet another season of weary resignation. |

The poll seems to be realistic rather than optimistic or pessimistic. Most people have us down as staying in this league which seems to be an accurate analysis.
I hope the optimistic people are right in that we're going up. Given that we've a snowball's chance in hell of automatic promotion that leaves the playoffs which personally I can't see us making and even if we did it's a 1 in 4 chance even allowing for bent refs at Wembley.
