I've heard Duff say this now atleast half a dozen times.
This was surely evident to everyone in the summer of 2023. How have we got through 3 transfer windows, which has seen well over double figure ins and outs and still have a quiet group of players?

You can tell that on match days, it only seems like Hogg and Nichols are the ones shouting. MrDuff now says "Town have a soft underbelly" oh dear.

How do you know who the leaders are going to be until you see them interact? We sign players for how they play and how they have previously achieved. You would expect the older more experienced players to be the leaders and we have a few of them, they don’t all play though and I don’t know how vocal they are.

Our two most recent promotions were built based upon signing players who were captains at their previous clubs. That’s how you know.

Another issue that they've failed to address across multiple transfer windows with millions of pounds spent.
Add pace, a ball playing midfielder and a decent striker to the list of obvious deficiencies that haven't been addressed.
Oh and the terrible injury record.

You can't tell how vocal a player is by watching them on a video but the scouts of old would know, by going out and watching them.

Every single bit of data is available on a player but we can't find out if they're a bit introverted and afraid of failure? The same club who constantly bang on about how good our due diligence is around signing players

The same club who constantly bang on about how good our due diligence is around signing players Evans captained Bristol Rovers 12 times towards the end of last season. Quote from Duff: “Technically capable, physically imposing and with a great track record, his energy is exactly what you want to introduce at the this stage of the summer. Now entering his prime, Antony was a leader for Bristol Rovers and was someone his teammates learned to rely on, so he ticks all of our boxes as both a person and professional.” He is a scouser and I have not met many quiet ones. The question is why are the players capable of leading not doing so?

The problem is we don't bother with scouts, our way of analysing players before we buy them is to watch a 3 minute highlights reel on YouTube.
