With the current squad?
Not the manager you think is just 'the best' or had the most success or you like the most, but which one in terms of tactics do you think would do best with the current lads?
For me it would be Carlos Corberan - seemed to get the best out of the lads who were not on paper the strongest but a real focus on tactics and getting one up on the opposition.
(options are just from the AH (After Hoyle) era to keep it 'current')

Grayson. The last man to get us out of this league.

For the love of God will you just stop making polls for the sake of it?

What Wagner & Warnock (2nd spell) did was for me quite unbelievable, I know it sounds dramatic but they both transformed overnight players who no one would give a 2nd glance.......So its a tie between those two, even pushed its hard to separate what they did. (Hoggy's autobiography may tell us one day?)

I would allow Duff the chance to adapt, because he needs to. There's a programme on the iPlayer currently about Brian Clough. If you can ignore the Forest issue, which is a bit tough to do I grant you, the question is asked: "How would he (Clough) do today"? The answer was "he would adapt, all great managers adapt". This is so true.
MD needs to show he has more about him than rigidly sticking with the 3-5-2 formation and "do plan A better". It clearly isn't working, well not at home it isn't. He also needs to demonstrate his man management skills.
The obvious answer to the poll, for what it is worth, is NW. Purely his track record speaks for it's self.

So far I'm the only person to have picked Wagner.
This is rather discombobulating.

If there was a ba for spelling and grammar there would be very few posts at all on this board I was called a f@@king Bitch (not on DATM) for pointing out to a guy who was critical of other peoples grammar that he himself was semi-literate. I don't know some people are offended by their own reflection, he was right though.

You're quite right in that he does need to adapt, but I don't have much faith that he will. Stubborn, single minded managers, who only know how to play one way seems to be a rapidly growing trend these days. The skill/athleticism of players may be ever improving, but I wholeheartedly believe the tactical awareness of managers (on the whole) is rapidly declining.

Crazy Manager Vote/Survey, after 7 league games, agreed the past 2 home games, performances were awful, we gave Darren Moore 23 matches, we must look at the performances & results, after 10 games. It was clear after 10 matches, that Darren Moore wasn't good enough, even though he was backed by the Club hierarchy. Michael Duff deserves our support, despite the last 2 performances & results, concerning that many have made their up already! - UTT.

I just will never forget seeing everyone around me sat with a stare and mouth wide open the first time he played . He was an absolute maestro for us.

I think the team is the biggest problem, they're either not good enough or think I've got my 2/3 year contract I can arse around or both. I could be wrong of course and they might turn into L1 version of Real Madrid CF.

A few of us have been saying that for a while now and got shot down by those who blame just the managers** and Cartwright**. They've been shit for 5-6 years now (barring Carlos' outlier season and King Colin's miracle) and it's still 60% of the same squad. ** Adding that obviously they have to take some of the blame too, particularly Cartwright.

I've gone for the greatest league manager of all time of course but if the question was who would I want to do the job longer term and build the culture of the club if Duff left it would be the other King; Wagner. I see Norwich are flying now they've sacked him

Got to be. Pissing him off was a really a poor move. Although saying that he could be a bit petulant Duff seems a bit similar to Warnock in some ways. Some of his decisions and team selections have come across as a bit of a 'two fingers up' to management.

Best passing midfielder I have ever seen. Can't remember many/any other decent passing midfielders in central midfield at town - Kenny Irons maybe?
