This club is absolutely rotten. Be lucky to get 10000 in the stadium next year.
Chairman absolutely no idea how to run an English football club. Players - equally talentless and spineless Director of football - ruined Stoke city now in the process of repeating the feat with us. Manager - who admittedly I thought might be ok. Only has one way of playing and has been exposed horribly.
It’s a disgrace we find ourselves in the position we are. Yes every football club has good and bad times but this is beyond pathetic now.
Big changes need to start tomorrow as we were promised in the summer with Cartwright and duff out the door and somebody brought in to run the football side of things who has a proven track record. Yes it might even have to be at a lower level than league one this track record (as I doubt there’s a queue of people wanting to work for a chairman who constantly undermines on Twitter) but we can’t keep going on with this clown Cartwright in charge.

I've just posted elsewhere that things won't change until we admit there's a real problem that needs addressing.
Stumbling on isn't the answer. A full overhaul and properly planned reset, driven by competent professionals, is required.
This team isn't getting promoted. As such we need to prepare for staying in this league but being able to mount a credible challenge next season. That’s a pretty depressing thought (that we won't be promoted) but it's better to do that and look to the future than blindly hoping things will improve, they won't.
Things are badly wrong across the club and everything needs to change. This won't stop until someone accepts that's where we are.

The one positive is that we should be able to get rid of the serial losers and perpetual hangers on, that we've accumulated on our journey down the leagues, at the end of this no doubt shit season. As long as the fucking idiot Cartwright doesn't sign them all up on extended contracts, of course.

We needed a full reset. That required us to sack or release every one responsible for previous failure. We didn’t do that. We even hung about waiting for the manager that took us down without a whimper to decide if he wanted to come back or not!
Then, probably the worst mistake of them all, we allowed the man who had messed up so badly last season to oversee the reset.
Absolute lunacy.

More defeats than any other club in the last ten years.
Most goals conceded in the last ten years.
It's starting to get tiresome.

I think Nagle is a good man, well intentioned but horribly out of his depth. So he's appointed people he viewed as competent to oversee the day-to-day.
The argument that the people in charge are competent becomes more and more untenable with every shit performance. This is not a blip. Peterborough and Bolton were the blips.
I've mentioned elsewhere that there needs to be a root and branch audit of the club, but who is going to do that audit? Probably the very people who need shifting.
I'm finding it difficult to defend Cartwright. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to defend Duff as well. And a large proportion of the playing staff.
If we need to lose some good people to cut out the shite, so be it. We'll probably stay up this season but we're currently 5 points off the drop - with every sign that this slump will continue for the foreseeable future. For one of the preseason promotion favourites, is damning.
Rip it up and start again.

Utter circus.

The Nagle Era has been an absolute shambles so far He's made the ground look nice and suppsedly got ownership or is close to it which is great. But the running of the actual football side of things has been a shambles. That is ultimately what it is all built around too. We've got a nice big facility with a shit product.

For one of the preseason promotion favourites, is damning. Rip it up and start again. I think you're right. You only have to look at the last press conference. Both Evans and Duff looked defensive and hardly in love with their current roles. That can't be right for a club with stated ambitions of regeneration and promotion (this season). I agree with your assessment of Mr Nagle. I think his intentions are very genuine. I would point to the excellent spring clean the stadium has had. That isn't someone who isn't interested in success, well it isn't for me. My message to him right now would be twofold: There is no shame in admitting that things aren't right and action needs to be taken. And as I say above no one can now tell me that things are going well. Although I appreciate Huddersfield is a long way from home and his family perhaps some sustained boots on the ground is required. When he took over there was mention of buying a house over here. I know we are heading into a Yorkshire winter and he may not want to abandon the California sun but his presence to get a real feel for what's going on might just be required. He's a successful man. People as successful as him tend to have a good sense of what is really going on. Moreover their instincts for change are pretty keen. As for Duff I think there is a decent manager in there but he seems to have been, quickly, dragged into the malaise that we have seen at the club over, certainly, the past two years. On the pitch the big problem is with 3-5-2 there are two significant failings to my eyes: 1 - The midfield is too lightweight, fails to contribute and control the game. The lack of quality on the ball offers the strikers (I'm coming to them) little service (from open play) and the inability to retain possession puts a less than quick defence under pressure 2 - Our striking options are one dimensional at the moment. There is no dominant player who holds the ball up and brings others into play. Healy might be capable but he's not, and hasn't been, fit. Ward hasn't contributed consistently for two seasons. Radulovic has had similar issues to Healy but looks a box centre forward ie thrives on crosses, slick passes. Marshall needs service, his work rate and defensive work shows his commitment cannot be faulted but he surely wasn't signed to get back and tackle in the final 3rd (as laudable as that is). Koroma has done OK but is learning the role, he has reduced to panicking and shooting on sight and consistency has never been his strong suit. As for Ladapo he's rubbish, it's as simple as that. MD has to find a way. He needs to sit back and reflect and show what he's about. I'm suspect he may use Dyche as a mentor so I'd be taking advice from him about what to do. I also hope he gives frank and level headed feedback to Mr Nagle about what he thinks, sees and feels. It feedback that Mr Nagle needs to absorb and this would be better done face to face. As for Mr Nagle's senior delegates they need to be challenged. Edwards is looking a capable business administrator but how strong is he at driving transformation? He is best placed for making an assessment of the atmosphere and issues at the club. If he's reporting back to Mr Nagle that there are mitigations for what we are seeing on the pitch then I would worry he's not got a grip of the culture around him. Cartwright is becoming the elephant in the room. I don't think there's one supporter who is convinced of his value or competence. He hasn't helped this perception by coming across as arrogant and having a substantial ego. You only have to look at his choice of clothes to get the opinion that it's all about me (Jake Edwards at least looks business like and professional and not like some overweight middle aged chump who's as likely to walk into a wine bar and order a crate of Champagne). His recruitment record is at best patchy, and that's being generous. I said I would judge us after 10 games but after 9 we look inconsistent at best and simply not good enough at worst (and those two things aren't really that far apart). This season already looks lost (in terms of being promoted) so it surely is a time to make plans for making us better in the longer term. I have no doubt that the last 18 months haven't come cheap for Mr Nagle but, unfortunately, it's going to cost him a lot more to get this right. I perfectly understand a narrative for this season that we don't give up but there also has to be some reality that things desperately need fundamental change. That needs to start right now. MD needs a chance and he needs support. In turn he needs to adapt. That is short term as we can't keep sacking and hiring managers especially as there is little faith in the individual tasked with making those choices. A time for hard choices, egos parked, reality and hard work. My pal Johnny X said I should have been invited to tea with Mr Nagle. Well they don't need to bother above is the jist of what I'd say. Noting that it's just my opinion, and I'm not so arrogant to think I'm right but equally I don't think I'm too far wrong either. UTT

As usual, I think you've hit the nail on the head, but I'd just like to address this bit. There ARE mitigating factors. But - and here's the key point - there always will be. Yes, we have some injuries. Yes, we failed to land either of our top two centre forward targets, and for reasons that are out of our control. I don't blame anyone at the club for not matching Birmingham's spending power or Luton's failure to land a striker. But if our hopes for success are reliant upon nothing ever going wrong, if the slightest setback derails us so comprehensively, then we're going to be waiting a long time for success. If we'd landed May or Taylor, AND had no injuries, would we be doing better? Yes, probably. But those aren't the only reasons we've lost 7 out of our last 8.

I can like this now HTFCokay isn't here to berate us... I never understood his point. All we’ve wanted for years is a team who isn’t afraid. Scoring 3 against a promotion team with a bunch of misfits is positive because it’s the message it gives to the fans. Worthington might not be the answer but he definitely understands us.

When Nagle took over we were a club in a hospital bed, since he's come in we've had a botched, fatal operation and the body has nearly completely decomposed in a field getting pecked at by crows.
He gave a cracking sermon at the wake though 👍

I often wonder if other clubs on a bad run are like us. I don’t think they all are. Any team can lose 7 games in 8, then they can sack the manager. But other clubs don’t also have a terrible boardroom and negative players who seem to have forgotten why they wanted to be footballers in the first place. For too many years I think the players have been given an easy ride, but it’s because there’s someone letting them. A weird comparison I would make is Gordon Ramsay on kitchen nightmares, we all know he’s famous for shouting and swearing but one of the other things he always sees is when a chef doesn’t care anymore. After that he helps them and teaches them how to make it simple. Point being that there’s not been any accountability at town for years, look at Tom lees - he says all that crap in that press conference and last night he’s the fucking captain. Shouldn’t even be on the bench with that attitude.

Scoring 3 against a promotion team with a bunch of misfits is positive because it’s the message it gives to the fans. Worthington might not be the answer but he definitely understands us. His point was pretty easy to understand; the initial bounce that Worthy got us had already disappeared. Even when we pumped the Wendies we only played well(ish) for 20 minutes when they collapsed. There was no way going that gung-ho would have lasted til the end of the season; as we witnessed it had already started to affect the players, they looked knackered after 3 games. Did I love the first few games he was in charge of? Hell yes, after Moore-ball it was a revelation seeing the players with the shackles off. Did I hope he'd be a revelation as a manager and take the job full time and do a Wagner? Oh my god yes; he was, is and always will be one of my favourite Town players so want him to do well whatever role. Did I want to see Worthy get the job full-time after those first few games? No, like I say the initial bounce had already worn off, plus Worthy always said he didn't want the job full-time and (in Worthy's words according to my boss' cousin playing for the Academy) his best place is with the kids. I think anything/anyone would have looked better after Moore (loved the Darren Bore name getting thrown about ) but as we're seeing this season the spine of that side had no spine. I don't think any manager (even my favourite ever manager King Colin) would have kept us up last season with the players at our disposal. And for the record I don't believe htafcokay berated anyone initially for that opinion, but every time he mentioned what I've just posted he'd get ripped apart and inevitably retaliate. Myself and a couple of other posters put exactly the same opinion as him and didn't get half the dog's abuse.** ** Acknowledging that he gets wound up (a LOT) easier than me and his acerbic posting style sometimes brings it to him. Edit: reply could be appropriate for Bubbles too Please note this is not a dig at anyone, we all have our opinions
