Man, it's depressing on here......so....YES, it's poll time friends!!! So, what do you think - not be the most short lived (Scoffa...) ...... Just for reference (accurate-ish) from longest to shortest in the modern era (AH - after Hoyle) Clark - 147 Wagner - 136 Corberan - 92 Robins - 62 Powell - 56 Grayson - 44 Cowley - 38 Warnock - 22 Moore - 22 Fotheringham - 20 Siewert - 18 Breitenreiter - 13 Schofield - 8 The above shows what a basket case Town is.......

Hopefully longer than Mark Cartwright. Would have made a better poll......Who needs to go next, CEO, DoF or manager?

Top manager and town would be stupid to get rid, too many with a n attitude of expecting too much too soon at this club, so many issues that are not right at this club mainly the players and not going out and getting a proper striker in , but this guy needs time and we as fans need to stop contributing to the downfall of the club by wanting the manager sacked when he’s been here 2 minutes.

Sadly I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better
Personally I would settle for a new director of football and give duff some time and probably write this season off

I have been an advocate of dumping managers asap, Schofield after the first game and DM I would have got rid of before he had 8 games.
This time I think that the club needs a rebuild and changing Duff should only be changed if it was part of the rebuild i.e. dropping Cartwright and any links to agents and part of the rebuild. If it was done any earlier I think we should be accused of fiddling while the club burned.

I see your back to your favourite topic, it's the fans fault. You might have some hang up about fans but surely even you know fans don't sack managers and clubs don't downfall when they're sacked.

Too much too soon - we've won 47 out of 147 league games including the carlos season!!! It's beyond pathetic now, particularly as most folks acknowledge the gaps between the leagues is growing and we've lost 5 of our first 9 at this level! Managers have to hit the ground running - duff did that.....and we are now locked in reverse gear! He deserves some time yes - but his in game mgmt and overseeing of the last 2 home games where the opposition have simply outrun and outworked us don't fill me with confidence.

I honestly think he is worth sticking with. It’s not good right now but he has I think the right personality and traits that can create a winning team with momentum.
One of these days we need to stick with someone. Duff seems the right type to stick with whilst we address the rot which is deeper in the club. I’ve said it before but we’re lumbered with some contracted shit and next summer will be a better opportunity for a clear out, hopefully with a different DOF.

Unless we can attract a manager who we KNOW will do better, there's no point sacking him at all. The players won't change.

Funny how we all have perceptions on how certain managers aren't good enough for us. We wouldn't have entertained giving Bruce an interview but right now he's looking like a superstar at this level

I don't think this helps anything, although I understand why some might speculate.
I still think MD has more about him and would hope he's looking to adapt but also be frank (with those above) about what he has walked into and what needs to change.
I've posted it before but he is the freshest pair of eyes and I would hope he's able to call out the good and the bad he's seen to date.
My worry, for him, is that he's getting dragged down into the malaise that surrounds the club. Someone needs to be a catalyst to change the narrative and change the mood.
MD is probably best placed to, at least, try and do that. Move him on and we are simply kicking the can down the road.
Someone needs to give things a shake.
The problem I see with MD at the moment is he is becoming entrenched and prepared to die on the cross of his formation. Currently this group cannot deliver in a 3- 5 - 2 set up so that needs addressing.
I genuinely hope he finds a way to allow for more meaningful, long term, transformation.

He should get the season minimum, this season was always going to be a stretch to get in the top 6 with all the deadwood we still need to get out…aslong as we don’t drop near the relegation zone it shouldn’t even be questioned, bin Cartwrong and release Ward,Hogg,Lees and such then it can be called a rebuild then see what he can do.

I assume constantly referring to fans as being bed wetters, rotten and contributing to the downfall of the club is your way of not blaming the fans. You don't like fans according to you their to blame for the clubs predicament we get it, but at least have the guts to acknowledge all the BS you post because it makes you appear stupid.

I think the signing of Ladapo was not a good omen, his record is very poor. I know there was some desperation after May but if we couldnt have got anyone better maybe hang on until January. Reality is though the entire squad is performing poorly and that's not down to one signing. I hope Duff can turn it around in the next few weeks but if he can't I don't doubt Nagle will do the changing.

Personally I think we need to stick with Michael Duff for a decent period of time.
He's come into a club that's just been relegated, having narrowly avoided relegation the season before. The players are scared by constant defeats and struggles. Mentally the squad as a whole is really weak (I do hope we are making use of top quality Sports Psychologists and/or Therapists to aid the players.
I think he needs another 2 windows at least to get players in and out and build his own squad. He knows how he wants to play, but at the moment just doesn't have enough of the right type of players to play that way. I think after another couple of windows the squad will contain a lot more players who are totally comfortable and used to playing the way he wants.
This season could still be a good one. We're only 3 points off a play off place with 37 games left. So long as we're in touching distance come January, when you get into the business end of the season, then we're in with a shout.

Still feel confident about the season , the away performances have been encouraging good wins at Peterborough and Bolton, Rotherham not the best but should of still taken something from the game ( shocking vital refereeing decisions played a major role in defeat) reading we were the better team would say a defeat was harsh and Birmingham are a class above and will probably set a points record in this division , folk losing their heads after that performance aren’t seeing the bigger picture . The home games are the problem and unfortunately where the highest percentage of town fans are witnessing the live games and why there is probably a melt down on datm. Stevenage and Shrewsbury were not great but still deserved to win. Northampton was shocking we were probably slightly the better team but to say we had individual shockers would be an understatement and Blackpool let’s say no more, we got it wrong in every department. But when you review the season I believe it won’t take too much to turn things round the home form is killing us , we have done well away from home and have played 5 hard away fixtures, keep the faith town fans and stay positive the club needs stability more now than ever and we as fans need to help Duff and the team by trying to cheer them on and encourage rather than boo a player when they make a mistake.

Can’t believe how many people think we should stick with Duff, he has done nothing to suggest he has a clue what he’s doing at town. His stubbornness to change is also alarming. Yes, some of our players aren’t great but they’re much better than most of the others at this level but our manager is making us look like the Dog and Duck in comparison to the mighty Northampton town and the like.
