Bet he chose to extend Scott Highs contract with the money instead ๐ Off topic slightly but what a boring strip Leeds possess... โน๏ธ ๐คฎ How on earth can you change that much each close season - And Real Madrid they certainly F*uckin ainโt for sure... At least you can do something with our beloved Blue and White Stripes ! ๐

We could have got that big jacked rapid lad that was at Wolves, used to have baby oil to stop people grabbing him too. His name escapes me though.

Tommy Smith when Shankley was here.

It has been said many times on here but Bill Shankly missed out on Ron Yeats from Dundee United and Ian St John from Motherwell - or rather the Town board did. Shankly signed them both for Liverpool and built a dynasty there. Just imagine those two in blue and white stripes with Ray Wilson, Denis Law and Mike OโGrady.

This is one that I'd heard for years but I'm sure someone posted a while ago that Shankly himself debunked it?

Wasn't Ryan Fraser pretty much a done deal when he was a promising prospect in Scotland but then some former Scottish player told him it was a shit hole so he backed out?

He may be a Huddersfield lad but it was never going to happen - he had a real issue with Town.

Time for one that worked out for us, and quite an appropriate one to bring up this season.
Marcus Stewart was set to go to Birmingham under Barry Fry, but Fry was then sacked and replaced with Trevor Francis, and Stewart joined us instead.

Liked the post for the info but Iโm sure we went in for Stewy straight after the play-off win against Gas? Sure I read that somewhere at the time?

Isnโt memory a wonderful thing ๐ Main thing I remember is turning to my uncles during the game and saying we need to sign him, best player on the pitch by a country mile

Willie Miller (who seems to be a negative gobshite when it comes to his beloved Aberdeen and anyone who goes against his opinion he thinks is a knob) was the man who slated us in the press saying Fraser could do better.
