Boxing Day 1969 Huddersfield Town 2-1 Sheffield Utd Got the programme framed. Used to be up on the wall in the hall before I re decorated. Got programs from all but two of the Town games I've attended. Both against Birmingham at St Andrews. The 1/4 Final in 1972 & a league game in 2000

It was my first time in the Cowshed, a very big crowd (nearly 30K) and two very good teams battling it out.

18th of August 79 at home to Aldershot although first memory is the 7-1 vs Vale the following month Pretty sure mine was also Aldershot but 2 years earlier - 1977. Think we won but don’t actually remember anything about the game. I know it was the old 4th division.

Think we won but don’t actually remember anything about the game. I know it was the old 4th division. Red Rum won his third Grand National that day, 2nd April. We won 2-0 with goals by Hart, and Butler - a near post header I think, from a magnificent cross by Kevin Johnson.

14th August 1993 v Reading, can only remember thinking how big the terrace stand looked from where I was sat. Not many of us will have started with 3-0 home defeats - Town 0 Rotherham 3 in March 1964. Yours was also Neil Warnock's first league game. Chris Marsden, who had spent most of the game watching the ball sailing way over his head, threw his shirt at him when he was substituted.

Portsmouth at home, Feb 1987 for me. Won 2-0 with second half goals from Duncan Shearer & Ian Banks. Steve Smith had recently taken over from Mick Buxton. Or 37 years, 8 months, 1 day, 22 hours and 38 minutes since kick off. Great game to start with. I was doing my PCCE in Manchester and came home for the game and then celebrated heartily at a party in Didsbury. Think Portsmouth went up as champions.

Mentioned it before on here, but my first game was the same day as the Hillsborough disaster in 1989- a 3-1 home win against Chester City.
In those days no mobiles, no smartphones and even pocket radios were a rarity, so my dad had no idea what was going on 26 miles to the south until we got back in the car and stuck the radio on. Once he got the gist of the news he changed stations to protect me from being scared to go to another game- at least that was how he told the story years later. Remember my mum being relieved to see us arrive home safe though.
That 3-1 win was like a drug dealer giving you the first hit for free to get you hooked!

Dec 07 1963 1-1 against Pompey 8,087 Always thought it was early season but according to 99 years and counting it was definitely winter. The difference in the home attendances was massive 31K against Leeds ( went up as champions ) 36k at Elland Rd. 5k against Scunthorpe. Only 13k against Man City, 16k at Maine rd. Biggest attendance was at St James's 38K on Boxing Day. Played them again two days later 13k . Won 3-0 at home and lost 0-2 away.
Very different days

It just occurred to me that tomorrow is the 45th anniversary of me starting my journey as a Huddersfield Town fan. On a Friday night I went to see the Buxton team away at Northampton Town, we lost 4-2 (as you might expect ) but I am still here all these years on. Just think how you would have all been spared my long winded diatribes had the doors slid in a different way. I'm going tonight so if things don't go well you know who to blame UTT You're a couple of months ahead of me. I hit 45 years on New Year's Day. A 2-1 win against Darlington on 1st Jan 1980

18th of August 79 at home to Aldershot although first memory is the 7-1 vs Vale the following month My memory of that 7-1 win v PV is very different to yours. I was living in New Jersey at that time and I clearly remember going to the local store to buy the Philadelphia Enquirer Sunday papers as they (usually) published the English football results, just the score, no details. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the score so I phoned my dad to find out more details. Kind of ironic that PV are now local to you.

I’ve no idea but it would have likely been the 77/78 season as I can remember Terry Gray and his red flowing locks very clearly. Games attended would have been intermittent until the 79/80 season when the bug bit watching that great Buxton team. Halcyon days looking back now.

November 1958. 1-1 draw with Sunderland. Charlie Hurley (if I remember clearly) headed them into the lead at the Cowshed end. In the second half my first Town hero Les Massie belted in a long range equaliser. Loved the whole atmosphere of the crowd and the ground, loved the blue and white stripes: I was hooked!

Think this game sealed the deal for me as a nearly 10 year old - almost unfathomable excitement. The very next game was Aldershot in the cup, I think, a surprise 1-1 draw and I spent much of the 2nd half in the first aid hut in the open end (I fainted, I think!)

I must be a newbie then 24th April 1993 home to hull city won three nil. O Reagan starbuck and Brandon. Would love to know anyone who can find the minutes of the scorers. Only thing I don’t remember. I want to print up one of those teletext tee shirts but need the minutes. The other scorer was Charlton, not Brandon, bit before his time and 6607 were in attendance. That’s it Simon charlton I always confuse those! I ve got the attendance too as I managed to find the programme looked for the following game just to see if the scorers times were on it but no!

My grandson in Adelaide went to his first game aged 7 in January and I was there with him and his dad - Adelaide Utd 0 Central Coast Mariners 4. It was 3-0 until a late penalty made it four. The difference between us is that he isn't likely to ever watch them again. Danny Schofield was the CCMs assistant manager.

I have a programme from my first game, but it didn't cost anything like what the seller on ebay (link below) wants for your match. 29 January 1954 Town 3 Independiente 2 Attendance 20,000+ www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360407095204?chn=ps&_ul=GB&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
