I couldn't believe it at lunch time, i drove up Gasworks street and the sight before my eyes was a sad one the Gas club was being knocked down Had many a happy time in that club, going right back to the 80's. Now it will be a distant memory like many other pubs and clubs that are gone, gone but not forgotten.

In the days before proms were a thing, our high school leaving do was in there. I've never seen such drunkenness in my entire life. People puking all over the shop. Marvellous night.

Never again the pie and peas and pre game pint.
Was an atmospheric place full of fans on a Saturday, real shame that places like this are no longer.

Plenty of beer drunk there and the boxing academy upstairs, not usually on the same day though.
Sad times seeing it demolished.

We come in from the other side along Leeds Rd. As a result, never been to the Gas Club, don’t even know where it was(!) but always sad to see news along these lines. We’d be lost without the Peacock pre-match, it’s been one of the few reasons for attending matches in recent seasons.
