cant really begin to say how bad that was.all this rubbish about its the cup, these things happen etc,its the way we were so inept from start to finish.bad results happen but a performance like that is just not good enough, get the shower of shite in today training, train them all day, make them realise this is not acceptable as a club and to the support to which they get.everygame is not enjoyable, some results maybe but the performances all season are not good,no excitment,no passion and no pride.not sure what duff does to try and motovate these players but it aint working, the whole team is pathetic

Just as an aside regarding bad defeats. I recall us being dumped out of the cup in the seventies by Aldeshot Town who were then in the fourth division. I can't remember which division we were in at the time, but I'm sure someone will be able to enlighten me.

We've not reached the point on the DATM embarrassment scale yet where people turn into angry parrots squawking the phrase 'the club is rotten, top to bottom'.
We've been on the receiving end of the magic of the FA Cup. I thought it might happen

At least they were a professional team in the football league!

I was in bookies last night, Town to win both halves was 11/4, no bet from me, shows how incompetent levels I have reached with this club, call it an inkling, typical Town, whatever you want, but that performance was total dire.

Ahem... www.coludata.co.uk/fixtures/it/222Imagine if Duff had said 'I'm quite satisfied with the result'. When did we ever brush non-league teams aside away from home? 1-0 defeats at Colchester, Accrington and Tamworth; Buxton needed replays to beat Northwich and Workington, Warnock the same with Telford. Buxton won 2-1 at Altrincham, 10 men prevailed at Worcester, 1-0 and 2-1 down at Grimsby. Can't see a single away game against non-league opposition where we won by more than one goal (which doesn't mean that there isn't one). I find that the best way of avoiding these banana skin cup ties is to start in the 3rd round.

Just purely unprofessional that performance from top to bottom. Well below the standards of any football club This.. Out Ont ale last night so didn’t watch..good choice.. OP is a drama queen.. Win next week and it’s forgotten.. Onwards.. 🍻 Another prawn sandwich please but have ale with mine. I suggest when you go out ont ale, you write on your arm which team you support because your memory sounds like my brothers when he was out ont ale and couldn't remember where he lived.

Tranmere 2 Town 1 - 27th January 1968, visited Prenton Park FA Cup 3rd Round. Travelled to Tranmere, with school friends, although we were struggling in Division 2, we expected to beat them. We were dreadful on the day and were humiliated by the defeat, at the hands of a lower league team - Tranmere Rovers! The defeat yesterday, was equally embarrassing, but unfortunately not a surprise - UTT.

It’s certainly up there.
What improves us going forward ? The joke that is Huddersfield Town just doesn’t get any better.
Nagle needs to wake up. He won’t though because I don’t actually think he understands.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of embarrassment I've felt watching Town. It was a FA Cup giant killing, they happen to someone every year. It was almost cliched how expectedly it played out. I can think of 4 or 5 occasions in the last year alone that've been more embarrassing than this was.

I could barely believe either of these results as a 10 year old.

Nagle is a winner, they said. Who? That was just smithers. If I had his wealth and drive to want to continue to do what he does at pushing 70 I'd consider myself a winner. Mind you even as a fan of over 50 years if I had that wealth I wouldn't put in anywhere near what he is doing considering the shit you get from some of the bell ends we have 'supporting' this club.

Depends on how you feel about the word 'embarrassing'. I dont think....in 45 years I can ever say I've been embarrassed by Town. Frustrated, angry, elated, bored, perplexed, delighted, entertained....probably many many more emotions.
But not embarrassed.
That said last night I was screaming at the TV when the latest corner went straight into the keepers hands. And I never get like that watching town on tv.
So have ever been as frustrated watching town might be better? The answer for me is....probably....many times!!

This will pass. FA cup upsets happen regularly, we've been on the receiving end a couple of times before.
The "Martin from Wakefield" nonsense when we appointed a German PE teacher was more embarrassing. Seeing a group of Town fans knock six bells out of each other and a female steward at Old Trafford was more embarrassing. Meekly rolling over at Wembley against a Notts Forest team no better than us was more embarrassing.

I wouldn't say we rolled over against Forest, it was a standard shit Championship play off final match. Like they all are, we also got shafted by the officials. The final against Reading we were both shite too. I do agree on the whole. Shocking result but I'm only bothered about league games this season.

Anyone got an objective opinion on Town to soothe me? One part of my brain is saying panic, everything is dreadful and we're doomed. Then there's the other saying it was a blip, hard surface, tough game etc and we'll be absolutely fine in the long run.

I thought it might happen Yes we have, you're bloody right, great comment, and well done to Tamworth who could probably do with the brass a damn sight more than we do. As for the fans there calling our lads wankers and flashing the "V's" give your heads a shek UTT

If we'd shown up at Wembley and played like we had in all bar two games since Christmas, it wouldn't have mattered how shit or bent the officials were. It was there for the taking the form we were in. Forest were in decent form too but they didn't show up either.

The problem is on the pitch, the club needs to deal with it pronto . 2 Thinking something might happen and magic doesn't excuse highly paid professional footballers performing worse than an under 14 side and been outplayed by a team of people who actually work for a living. 3 Tamworth needing the brass really is not a valid reason that even applies to Prem clubs. 4 The lads should have been silent more effective display, wanker and Vs not cool or appropriate. I know some people have little interest or passion for the history and culture of football but it was the FA Cup, those that think it's a tin pot should maybe reconsider their hobby in the future.

Must admit I’ve supported town for 40 odd years, that’s deffo one of the worst performance/ results ever and feels embarrassing. I thought the days of going to work and genuinely feeling embarrassed and needing to keep my head down had disappeared , mainly through age. But no the club have left me tonight feeling ashamed to be a town fan. I do want to back this club to the hilt, but tommorow I will have no defence for any piss take because Tamworth were simply deserving of their victory. PATHETIC !!!! The above post sums it up that a 10 v 1 defeat is the only game that was more embarrassing. For god sake town go out and get a proper striker also. It’s fucking embarrassing. That Man City side was very good and we caught them on the wrong day, tonight was nothing else but woeful. Certain players put the effort in but that is where it stops and a clueless manager just looking on. I hate to say it, the whole club is badly run. That Man City side weren't very good to be fair. Town beat them at home and they finished mid table.
