Yes we have, you're bloody right, great comment, and well done to Tamworth who could probably do with the brass a damn sight more than we do. As for the fans there calling our lads wankers and flashing the "V's" give your heads a shek UTT 1 The club is not rotten. The problem is on the pitch, the club needs to deal with it pronto . 2 Thinking something might happen and magic doesn't excuse highly paid professional footballers performing worse than an under 14 side and been outplayed by a team of people who actually work for a living. 3 Tamworth needing the brass really is not a valid reason that even applies to Prem clubs. 4 The lads should have been silent more effective display, wanker and Vs not cool or appropriate. I know some people have little interest or passion for the history and culture of football but it was the FA Cup, those that think it's a tin pot should maybe reconsider their hobby in the future. Hobby? I would say following htfc is a way of life.. Being a football fan is more addictive than class A drugs..

We've lost to two League 2 teams, a non league club, we just need to lose to an under 21 team now for the hat trick of embarrassments this season.

That Man City side weren't very good to be fair. Town beat them at home and they finished mid table. It was a freak. We didn’t concede (I think - maybe 1?) at Maine Road again, including a scoreless 120 minute cup replay a couple of months later. They did beat us 0 3 in the FA cup second replay. We should have beaten them at home in the first game, late equaliser, and it was probably the worst Town season on record.

Nagle is to blame. His time of naivety is over. Let’s remember he basically just came over and fully justified Cartwright and his signings. He tried to tell the fans that he and Cartwright have the knowledge and we the fans don’t appreciate everything they have done or are doing. It’s a joke. Lol, multi millionare Nagle leaves then what?

I can't believe some fans think last night doesn't matter, of course it does. Lets get one thing straight, this team will not get promoted because has soon as they come up against a physical side, they don't have the bottle. They can't tough it out and there is not one player who takes on the responsibility of organising the players

Got to be the 10-1 at Man city, cup upsets happen every season, 10-1 scorelines with teams from the same division a bit less.

I remember when we signed a striker who can't score goals the "I am happy with this" comments said all you need to know about how clued up some are.

Maybe a touch harsh?I didn’t want until the last 20 minutes as was at a fireworks display with the kids but I’d certainly consider myself a fan. Facts are Friday night was poor and impossible to defend, simply impossible.Does it mean the season is imploding,we’ll find out.Leagie wise we can maybe give up 5 more performances similar to that, anymore and automatic promotion will not be happening. But like you have mentioned I do very much think that we should be pissed off about Friday, personally I’ll save any recruitment outrage for the end of the season,or at least after January. The recruitment then needs to be a considerable level up from where it has been up to now though I will say that.

Tranmere 2 Town 1 - 27th January 1968, visited Prenton Park FA Cup 3rd Round. Travelled to Tranmere, with school friends, although we were struggling in Division 2, we expected to beat them. We were dreadful on the day and were humiliated by the defeat, at the hands of a lower league team - Tranmere Rovers! The defeat yesterday, was equally embarrassing, but unfortunately not a surprise - UTT. Denied a replay by a last minute fluke 30-yarder from their left winger using his 'wrong' foot, (cf. Accrington), but 1967-68 remains the season of our best cup run since 1938 and hasn't been matched since.

Ahem... www.coludata.co.uk/fixtures/it/222Imagine if Duff had said 'I'm quite satisfied with the result'. When did we ever brush non-league teams aside away from home? 1-0 defeats at Colchester, Accrington and Tamworth; Buxton needed replays to beat Northwich and Workington, Warnock the same with Telford. Buxton won 2-1 at Altrincham, 10 men prevailed at Worcester, 1-0 and 2-1 down at Grimsby. Can't see a single away game against non-league opposition where we won by more than one goal (which doesn't mean that there isn't one). I find that the best way of avoiding these banana skin cup ties is to start in the 3rd round. Colchester was the 3rd round, my great uncle was at Layer Rd (with 1000's of other Town fans who managed to get tickets), he would say quietly 'that was a bad day'. Town made the front pages/BBC headlines & Pathe news, I think the U's had an open top bus parade with a civic reception.......We were the big boys back then.

'There is no parallel to the giant-killing act...', ha ha, (until they beat Leeds 3-2 in the early 70s). In fact we were circling the plug-hole of a return to Division 2, season after season of struggle not unlike our past few seasons and with a chap in charge who was quite satisfied with being knocked out of the cup by Colchester. By the way no-one's offering anything better than a narrow win in the cup away against non-leaguers. Wait while we lose to one at home, though I think we've always won. I remember a last-gasp goal by little Leon sparing us a replay at Gravesend and Northfleet (we'd been behind from the second minute Nathan own goal until Ade Moses equalised an hour later). I was all set to travel.

It rained at Swindon one tuesday night where only luck and some farcical finishing from them meant it was only 6 0.... City and Barnsley were at the time very good sides for the divisions. Swindon were average to poor, we were unbelievable on the night🙄 A good laugh on the way home sort of summed it all up, thats truly an embarrassing day. The empty chair wasnt our best day either.. Im not going to ponder anymore, in reality there are loads.. Picture Schindler's penalty or the big fella crunching the Chelsea keeper😑, thats better now..

I seem to recall being at Oakwell 6-0 down at half time and thinking we were getting another Citeh trouncing only to win the second half 1-0?

Didn’t we get done 6 nil v Villa the same season as the 10:1? Or is that the Swindon game? Whatever, we were worse that day than against City if my admittedly bad memory serves me right.

Plymouth was first game of the season, was on holiday in Corfu at the time with some mates, mate got a paper with the results in (no smartphones then), asked him how we'd done and he threw it on the bed in disgust, a sign of things to come.

Yeah I’ve just looked at the results and my memory have deffo played tricks on me. We played one game worse than City anyway but I can remember which one. Maybe it was Hull City. Who knows? Fuck getting old! We were young at the time and went to most of the matches. It was definitely a gallows humour season; we were so crap, it was actually quite funny.

Remember being on holiday in Magaluf, Nico Vaesen debut away at Bury. He was sent off and we lost (if I recall rightly).
Must have been 1997 or 1998.
