Thanks for your recent comments re some of the activty around the club over the past few games.
I just wanted to respond to a few...
Big Screen. We are still learning on this equipment but are slowly getting there. For us to undertake replays there is a considerable expense, so for this season sadly it will be unlikely (but when in the Championship....!).
As for scores updates during the match - we run the screen from remote access and without going into too much technical detail it is difficult for us to undertake this, however our media team are currently investigating if there is a way to do this.
As for Sky Sports broadcasting at half time - again we are looking into this possibility but there may be some broadcast and technical issues which need clarification.
We feel that showing the game is our best option at the moment (with the resources that we have) but as always we are continue to look at how we can improve things.
Matchday announcer - comments noted - we will have an internal discussion.
Half time ents - sadly the insurer stipulated from the centre circle (not much we could do) but Kia (Longley Park) and ourselves are disscussing how this could be improved. MK Dons - activity should be a bit more easier to win something (watch the web next week)
PA system - was boosted for Stockport (worked well) although seemed ok last night without additional speakers? But are continuing to look at this...
Catering - seems to be improving - still some work to do with EMC - but on right tracks
First Bus - some teething probs - but am sure we can over come these
Prog - thanks for your comments - sales seem to be on the increase
Retail units - seem to be well recieved - please continue to support them.
Hope that helps
Onwards, upwards and always forwards!
Regards
Sean

Sean.... a question re the radio coverage.... why has Pennine (home) been dropped... it was a good service and a good few of us didn't mind Mr.Crawshaw (those who didn't like it had the choice to switch channels but now instead they have 70s disco music) ... Last night, at the game, I had to either listen to the Bradford report on the match on Radio Leeds or nothing.... Surely a Huddersfield Radio station with a radio bias is far better

All I can say we are in continued negotiations with Pennine but we do have fee we are not prepared to drop below.
Possibly drop them a line explaining the importance of keeping the commentary?

Cheers Sean, at least its nice to know that you are still in negotiations with them. (I can't see why they would be stubourn as the match commentary must boost their figures significantly which in turn attracts advertising...) I will drop them a line.

Morning Sean thank you for your continual prompt responses please keep it up thanks.
But what are these expenses ?
We used to show the replays before on the little telly's albiet dodgy rewinds on a VCR; with a simple single channel DVR (digital video recorder) approx purchase price of £400 + VAT we could have DVD quality recordings of the game with a replay available instantly.
Please tell be the Greedy FA are not now slapping viewing rights payments to instant replays.

Personally, I don't see a rpoblem with the Bradford commentary being on 92.4Fm last night, they were away and us at home. If the radio station have away games for both clubs as their chosen commentary that's fine by me, I 'm at all home matches for sure. If we're both home or away, the highest placed club (us) get preference.

I listen through HTFC World, Oggy defo said that the "Huddersfield Biased Commotary" was on 92.4 and Sadford were on 774.

I have a DAB with an FM option... but I've never been able to pick to Oggy and Kieran... where are they supposed to be I also like the news up dates with highlights of the goals etc when my missus has it on at home or in and sometimes the phone-ins afterwards on Pennine/Home oh and the other thing I like about Crawshaw is that he keeps up with the play which is good when you are watching it live...

The thing that I loved about 107.9 commentary was that I could always rely on them to give me the most up-to-date deals on caravans and motor homes.

Thanks for your recent comments re some of the activty around the club over the past few games. ..........Regards Sean Sean, At Saturdays game it was like coming to a different club! It felt organised!! My mate described it (tongue in cheek) as a Brave New World, places to buy things without trapesing round to the Riverside, pleasant bar staff (the central bar in the Kilner Bank) who were keen to serve and very polite, PA system you can hear, liked the big screen (any chance of a bit of blue or the Dads at half time ) and just had a good feel about it. Think about the only thing I'd change is that right thinking fans should be issued with shotguns to shut up the "fans" who judge the standard of play on what they see in the Premiership or above? All in all a very pleasant experience and god it was good to be back. ;D UTT

Sean, Thanks for updating us all on here, think the retail units are inspired, long overdue, and a big queue formed after the great win last night despite the lousy weather - so hopefully they will be worth keeping going - suggestion - get more smaller / cheaper items to the front of the kiosk as loads of kids were looking at the unit, but wouldn't buy shirts ( down to dad's pockets ! ) but would have spent pocket money on key rings etc, especially after a win! The Tetley beer is MUCH improved so that's one success so far, and agree with the other guys on here the "sub" announcer was better than the original from a clarity point of view, early days I guess. The bit of scoreboard stuff I missed last night was a view down the tunnel as the teams came out, and occasional shots of Stan and Ronnie "encouraging" the team, which added to the fun at the Arsenal game - can we do that? Great strides, looking forward to a stunning season.. ;D

Sean,
The updates much appreciated and are a very good way to communicate with us fans. You always hear about clubs trying to create a 'good match-day experience' but I now know what this means. The club now feels like a professional, exciting place to watch football. Well done and I hope you pass on the positive feedback to the rest of your team.
P.S. You know you need to make the right choice on the match-day announcer!!

Cheers for the update.
Hope the anoucer is the right decision.
Maybe it's just me but the music could do with not being so loud. But at least it isn't as loud as it was last season(or season before that?)! That just took the piss!
Food was great yesterday! My hotdog was so hot when I received it. Almost burnt my hands ;D
So are Pennine doing commentary for saturday? If not were else do I listen?

I am really impressed with the new scoreboard However I don't really see the point in showing the match on there if there are no replays, as you watch the "match live" and then look at the scoreboard when there is a break in the action. Surely nobody sits watching the match on the screen.

The only slight niggle I have is that the PA system in the Direct Golf UK Stand Upper was really quite loud, could barely hear the person stood next to me! Other than that, some great improvements all round from previous seasons, a job very well done.

I agree with Billy bathtub, I think the point of the big screen showing the action is for replays - given the choice I would prefer replays only if this is easier to manage than live action with replays, I personally can't imagine anyone turning away from the pitch to watch the match on the screen!! Have we improved the recording equipment at all since we moved, we are in a digital era now and still suffer the rewind and replay VCR type replays at half time just like we did in Aug 1994 (it was impressive back then ) If replays cannot be managed then use the screen as a scoreboard with advertising. What is the further expense needed for??

I like the match being played on the screen, especially if you sit at the very far end of the antich, as i do. You can get some good angles from corners and free kicks. And the chants that are directed to away fans require looking in their direction so you can watch the match at the same time . I coudnt think of anything better to put on the screen during the match, and it has its advantages, it does the job and is much better than last seasons. Heres to hoping for replays though, and the right decision on the announcer !

Re the scoreboard, I suggest only show 'live' bits when there's a stoppage in play so we can see an injured player being treated, Stan & co playing cards on the bench, etc.
Otherwise why not show sections of the crowd during quiet bits to promote a bit of a response?
No point showing the actual game in progress, Sean old son!

Just an idea SMJ1 could we not just have the coverage on a delay of say 30 seconds so the crowd would look up to the scoreboard after a goal/incident and it would show it as a replay?
I presume the reason we can't do it is that Sky would demand a fee?
I love the start to each game now with the gladiator music and look back at our history. Another idea would be to have a montage of the previous few games goals right at the end to really get the crowd going. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bradford goals again and again!

I think we could invest in new TVs in the concourse, rather that those really old ones we have at present.
A few large(er) screens down there with either match highlights on one and skysports news on the next one along would be good.
Not too bothered though, like. ;D

Great idea woodyhudds - maybe only a 5 second delay though. Though it might mean people not celebrating a goal until they've watched it again!
Personally I think it's good having the game on the big screen & it's a fantastic addition.
Everything you've mentioned is a great addition to the matchday experience. Especially the tetleys (apart from the price!) & the MUCH improved staff. I didn't think EMC had it in them.
Things are even going right on the pitch...
