whilst i am pleased the club are trying to increase atmosphere i think the start of the game just didnt seem right, it seemed a bit fake, almost like canned laughter on tv programmes,
it also seemed to drag on after the ref and players were ready and in my opinion seemed to stifle the noise which is created before kick off after the teams walked out.
what did everyone else think of it?

It's the Liverpool song; no wonder nobody was interested. What a waste of time.
Perhaps if they'd dragged Mary Hopkin out and sat her in the centre circle with a guitar we might have got a couple more folks involved.
Or then again, perhaps not ...
Personally I think the whole idea was a waste of effort.

song was too slow and nobody knew the words so it died on its backside today,
something like this was going to take many home games to build up but a faster version of the song is required, maybe ub40's version/?

It was awful, more fitted for a funeral than the start of a football match. Hardly gonna pump the atmosphere up was it?
Love the idea but whoever chose the song wants shooting!

Went on FAR too long. Just a chorus would have sufficed.

Everyone thought it had ended and then another verse started.
Back to the drawing board on this one.

Should have probably been tried maybe 5 mins prior to kick off as a prelude to a more uplifting tune.... Good effort though.

That was just way too slow. It would sound amazing if we didn't need any music and we all held scarves up while singing it ourselves like we normally, do as they are entering out of the tunnel... If only

Is it just MOD£RN FOOTBALL?
In the same way that Manchester City are 'Blue Moon' and Bristol Rovers are 'Goodnight Irene', I always thought that 'Can't Help Falling In Love' was the Crewe song. (NOT Liverpool!)
Seemingly we can homogenize and standardize everything throughout football, no individuality. The height of crassness to float another piece of failed marketing in front of the fans who first thought of it for themselves!

This one didn't work. Maybe timing wasn't too good either.
I do however think its a possibility for the future.
Worth a go - but back to drawing board.
I did think the air cannon worked well though?

Sean it was just too slow Sean and people dont know the words. smile a while would probably work and maybe a local band could be bunged a few quid to record a version to play! or a version of falling in love the supra version of blue moon to which city and ricky hatton uses really works, at hatton fights it makes every hair on your body stand up its awsome nothing like it IMO i would love to get that kind of a buzz when town come out

I did think the air cannon worked well though? Sean The air cannon was a good one indeed, definit bit of fun and goodwill (I do believe even the infamous "Polish One" may have got a lucky catch ). The song/scarves, good mark for thought and effort, but will obviously need some refining to be effective. Dont give up on it altogether.

Sean we appreciate the sentiment but it didnt work for a number of reasons
1) the song wasnt the version sung by the town fans. It was twice as slow and included verses not sung by town.
2) Football fans DO NOT respond to being told what to do/sing. As you could tell from tuesday night, the south stand was lively because it was a difference AND spontaneous. If someone tells you to sit down, you stand up. Similarly if someone tells you what to sing you dont.
Please keep up the great efforts this year Sean, you have been brilliant but dont patronise the town fans. We do not need telling what to sing with a song that will not work and lyrics printing out on the big screen.
p.s. Please sort out our ballboys, they are effing dreadful!

Cheers Sean, it was a good idea! I also think you've done big things with the half time entertainment, it's much improved! What's happened with the game whereby a contestant had to roll a ball on to a mat in the centre circle? I thought that was great!
