Think this is the most interesting appointment of the lot if he can do his Obi Wan Kenobe stuff on one or two players. Waggle his finger and whisper "we will play in the champions league" and he may turn Jevons into a 30-goal-a-season striker. It's called Black magic.

Maybe he can weave his magic on the legs of Unsworth and Lucketti

You'd run through walls for this fella. He was terrific!

I think that Mr Black really is the icing on the cake. Given the people he's worked with and the things they say about him it looks like quite a coup for us.
Watching the interviews yesterday made me think that at last we have a forward thinking chairman and management team, willing to embrace the latest ideas and not rely on the same old ways of doing things. The way they talked about a philosophy running through the club is the same way that things are done at Barcelona, Man Utd etc.
Now, we just need to give them time...

Didn't realize until now that he was so pivotal in Jonny Wilkinson's success and had a major say with the British and Irish Lions. Might be the other code, but I wonder if we could lend him to the Giants - for a small fee of course!

The back room staff we have just got in looks quality. All signs point to good times.
IMO though it'll take time for LC and others to 'bed in', get their ideas across and get us playing the good stuff. Results will follow.
UTT!

I agree Tez and even though I don't expect too much too soon, I do think we'll rip Hereford to shreds next week! Can't wait.

"Black is a big, bearded bear of a Geordie with a glowing countenance and a magnetic personality to match. In his youth he was Newcastle city schools' 100m sprint champion and a flying right winger in Newcastle United's junior team. He became a power-lifter and boxer and was a pub bouncer in Newcastle before moving into coaching and fitness training. He guided Glenn McCrory to the International Boxing Federation world cruiserweight title and worked with Keegan at Newcastle United before teaming up with Rob Andrew and Steve Bates to help Newcastle Falcons reach the top of the domestic rugby union tree. He has had spells working under Graham Henry with Wales and the British and Irish Lions. He has also worked as an actor, appearing alongside Jimmy Nail in Spender as a "hard case" ice hockey player."
Is there anything he hasn't done?!?
