Talk Sport has been nothing but a constant stream of Kaka/Man City transfer news today. It set me thinking if I was jealous of their spending power etc and quite frankly I am not. They have owners who know nothing about football or the club they have bought whilst we have an owner in love with football and Huddersfield Town. The Manager seems out of the loop on these signings. The club is in the doldrums with fans unhappy and a real chance of relegation.Yes they have trillions behind them but who cares? One final thought. If the owners want Kaka so much(£100m) then why didn't they buy AC Milan??I suspect for a few quid more they could have bought the whole club.

not jealous of them at all-can have all the money in the world, but if the players dont gel,it becomes irrelevant

If we're going to be jealous of clubs that have more money than us or are bigger than us, we're going to be a pretty jealous set of fans ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

I can't think of anything worse happening to my club, seriously. It's not even about football anymore.

The last thing I'd want to see is Huddersfield Town in their position. For me it's ruining football.. give me the football league over the Premiership any day of the week..

man city's problem with having all this money is they'll go n pay silly money for players (eg kaka for about £100m and about £500k a week) but once the owners get bored, leave, and theres no more money, theyre gonna be well n truly screwed

Absolutely agree. Can't honestly remember the last time I sat down and watched a whole Premiership game but I will gladly drive a 6 hour round trip to watch Town.A proper football club.TTID.

They've got the most money but they can't get the Buffon's or Torres' that they want cos they are not a glamorous club. Clubs like Milan and Barcelona can pay these ridiculous sums of money anyway so an extra couple of million a year isn't that amazing to them.
If they could get the players they wanted, then they wouldn't be going for players like Craig Bellamy.
Kaka won't join them, he will be another Ronaldinho with a rumour that flirts with the media but never actually comes off.

TBH I cant get me head around 100 mill for a midfielder and wages of , if correct, about 300 grand a week... what values or responsibility does that teach him, give me the real football league every single day....

He wins games for Milan/Brazil though. £100m is absolutely ridiculous for any player of any position - a) its over double what the best player of our generation went for and b) its only a football player!

It would be great to have enough money at Town to get us to a higher level...but then what? just end up like Bolton or Wigan (similar fan base at present) just looking for survival and not being dropped from the greed league. Ultimately the sort of money being pumped in to Man City will be damaging - forces transfer values and wages up. It all filters down eventually and ends up with the lower league clubs being hardest hit. The finances of football are a law unto themselves. If some sort of 'total season spend' capping doesn't come in then it will become more of a farce than it is now. Big clubs break away yet again to some Euro superleague and a bigger gravy train from multiple TV companies, rest left to scrape by on the leftovers. The lessons of the impact of ITV Digital going bust seem to be conveniently forgotten.

Chelsea fans weren’t plastic before Abramovich came along.

I know a few city fans, Id rather them do well everytime compared to man utd..... so many people just started following them because of the success. I honestly cant see how one player, however fantastic he is, can make the difference enough to be a top 4 club.

do we know all this money will mean they'll start challenging the top 4?no-chelsea,man utd etc get the players gelling together and playing well as a team-doesnt mean man city will be able to do the same, and if they dont, then they'll be a lower midtable team, nothing more

![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I think we can compare ourselves to City fans in some ways, they have spluttered and faultered in trying to succeed for years and they have some very loyal long suffering fans who from the ones I know have a great sense of humour.

chelsea and blackburn showed what money can do because they got the players playing together as a team and working hard for each other-doesnt mean man city will be able to achieve the same-you need to realise that money does NOT guarantee success-it might increase the chances of it,but it does NOT guarantee it
