Great to finally see him play (so much for 6 weeks out when we were first going to sign him). Thought he looked the business and is a positive to take out of a pretty miserable day. After a good start to the season, Skarz has been making the same mistakes that made a lot of people ,me included, doubt him last season. think that boy needs to take a step away from it for a while so williams FINALLY coming in is quite timely. Weve got to look at a new centre back though. Clarke just doesn't look good enough in any part of his game anymore.

yes good that williams finally made his full debut. look composed in what was a big game and test. not much got through down their right until last twenty when whole team seemed to tire, not just williams.
i'll also second clark, and mirfin too, we desparatley need an old head to play along side either of these two. Ritchie must know we have a problem here thats why he brought in Keogh.
problems dont disappear overnight.

Clarke out maybe move holdsworth back to rightback and play sinclair alongside mirfin? I've been saying this for WEEKS, exactly what you suggest! But nobody seems to listen, and Ritchie CERTAINLY won't listen; he's got Holdsworth down as a midfielder. Sinclair, despite lacking a little in height would be a much stronger proposition at centre-back than Clarke.

Problem with Sinclair he's a bit all or nothing - holding the man up and waiting for an opportunity is not really in his gameplan.
Whilst I like his positive approach to the game (reminds me of Sodje a bit, similarly positive and erratic) - we'd concede a hell of a lot of free-kicks and penalties with him in the middle I'd guess?

Sinclair at CB alongside Mirfin would be worse than we have already. Mirfins weak spot is in the air.Its the one thing Clarke has over him and sinclair isn't going to cope height wise at CB. We really need another strong, preferably experienced, CB whos good in the air.Keogh was a disaster though yet AR thought he was good so I don't have much faith in AR getting a good one myself even if he was allowed the budget to.

Re Williams, excellent debut for him. Considering Ritchie thought he was 90 mins away from being ready. He looked confident, assured on the ball, made several good forward runs and some good tackles. Looking forward to us having a few free kicks around the opposition box in coming games!
In terms of our central defence I agree with the above post, sinclair is not the answer. We got caught short a lot last season with him at centre back. His best position seems to be right back where him and kamara link up well. We do need another centre back, someone to dominate in the air like boothy does when he comes back for set pieces.

Personally I'd experiment with Mirfin at right back and try the Clarke brothers at centre back I'm amazed no one thought Collins had a mare - I don't think they'd need to bother washing his kit at full time. Also anyone else think Cadamarteri has put a lot of wieght in recently? Oh and a promising debut from Williams (nearly two months later than expected), he looks a good player

Totally agree re: williams. Looks a class act. No reason why he and Skarz could feature in the same team longer term, with Williams taking the left wing berth.
Personally I think both Clarke and Mirfin are useless. Both can play wonderfully well for 89 mins but then make and almighty cock up in the other 1 minute. I don't think we'll move forward until both are consigned to Halifax Town where they belong.
Holdsworth too is no right back.
I'd say though our priority must be to sign at least 1 decent CB this January. What about Morgan from Sheff Utd? I was told by a utd fan about a month ago, he was falling out of favour.
