Just like to say that was at game and thought we played very well in first half but couldnt finish. we looked very tired in 2nd. what idiots Leeds officials are to make us have to walk back to cars through all their hooligans past the peacock ! ridiculous. Smithies should be given another game v rovers on 15th . only goal he might have been at fault was 2nd one. he needs to get some experience and confidence so I hope he plays on saturday. probably most intimidating place ive been to, some Leeds fans in dry salters pub before game were saying that when they come over to galpharm town fans " are getting a kicking " for defacing billys statue !

Simply won't happen; Glennon will come straight back in now that he's served his ban.
Still think we need to get in another keeper whilst Eastwood is injured though. Anyone know how long that's going to be, by the way?

Cant agree with you there Nick. Alex Smithies is the future, nowhere near a run in the 1st team, Glennon will be back no question. Say Smithies did play on Saturday and we got beaten again? I'm no fan of Glennon, but would rather him between the sticks.

fair point jackosgal, just would like to see the youngman get a chance in a game at home that we should win ! his kicking and general play looked good. we must start winning a few games now or we will be at wrong end of table.

No way - Glennon's gotta start if he's available. Experience is a massive asset to any goalkeeper, Smithies simply doesn't have experience, a loan placement where he'd get football week in week out, COMPETITIVE football that is, would do him the world of good. Glennon has got to start when available. He's a decent enough keeper in my eyes.

Loved it when the chant went up "4-0 it's your keepers fault"
To be fair to the guy though, he was really unlucky with 2 of the goals when he made a good save only for the rebound to fall at our strikers feet.
If you hang onto him, he will be a very good keeper in a few years.

i don't think we need to spend money on bringing in a keeper on loan, who is basically just going to a back-up. let's spend the money (what money?!) on someone who is going to come to huddersfield and actually be a first team regular.
another thing, i think smithies should be loaned out to some BS premier or northern team (i.e. Farsley, York, Harrogate Town, etc). it would do him the world of good.

Smithies was at fault for both the 1st and 2nd goals. Glennon would have got pelters for the same mistakes. Lets not destroy the kid before hes even started eh? He's third choice and barely out of school. Even the 2nd choice,Eastwood, isn't ready to play in the 1st team yet according to AR.
Yesterday we paid the price for not having decent squad in terms of cover in goal. Rachubka left and wasn't replaced so with this stupid last man red card rule it was only a matter of time before we got caught out.

Spot on Capt. Though Smithies was badly let down by the defence as well.
I'd imagine Town thought they'd have time to find cover if something went wrong but circumstances (& the fucking FA) got the better of us.

No doubt that Smithies will make a good keeper, but Saturday is a important game to us now. Every game is important! but Bristol are playing better that their results suggest, but there again the keeper is only has good has his defence in front of him.

The defence will probably be Holdswoth Clarke Mirfin and Williams again.... Some serious work on the training ground this week....
