I know you may think I am talking poo here but I reckon both of these players would be better in the others position. Collins has a great finish but lacks the strenghth to boss a midfield and can go missing at times, plus he often looks best breaking forward with the ball. Pilkington on the other hand has two great feet, has pace and puts his foot in. He has the look of Gerrard when he attacks ( not that good but..) and I reckon he would be a fanatastic driving force from the middle

I definitely want to see Pilks in the middle.

Where did he play when at Stockport? Right Wing Not all the time he didnt. My mate whos a stockport fan said he often played in the hole behind 2 central strikers. Or are we talking about for Town vs stockport?

Thought he played fab on the wing against Stockport, but we also have Cads and Lionel who can play there. I would have Ainsworth playing on Tues, play Pilks on the left and stick Roberts on the bench. He's been our best player this season but has had a few poor games recently. Cads and Lukas up front!

I can't see a situation where we'd want Collins on the wing, Pilks, Cads, Roberts and Ainsworth are all far better than him in that position.
Pilks in the centre on the other hand....

Collins played "in the hole" against Crewe and was quite frankly awful

Collins isn't a winger, he looks lost when he plays out there. He should player center mid or not at all, and while he's scoring goals I'd keep in there.

I was thinking about this on saturday at the game when Goodwin got booked. If Pilks could play in the middle or just behind the front two with his strength, vision, surging runs, shooting with both feet etc etc it would be like a Gerrard type player but then how would the balance of the side be effected. The formation would have to change to a 4-3-1-2, midfield of collins, ainsworth and roberts and cads and lukas upfront. Might be worthwhile giving it a go at some point, holding midfielder may be needed though!

Pilks played a more central role at times for County than he has been doing for us so far. There's a lot more to be seen from the Pilks-ter yet....

Pilks played just inside for stockport, not on the wing.
We would be best imo playing Roberts, Pilks, Collins, Ainsworth.
just while goodwin is out. id be happy with
Pilks, Goodwin, Collins, Roberts
the rest of the time, with ainsworth upfront.

People say Collins covers every blade of grass. That is their view and that is fair enough but in my opinion, there are times where he doesn't show for the ball enough when our opponents attacks break down and we gain possession.
His best asset is being in the right place at the right time when the ball breaks around the box.
