I though he made a difference when he came on. He's taken a lot of stick on this board, but yesterday he won a penalty and had a couple of decent shots on target when he came on. I notice Lee Clark was praising him after the game for his attitude in training and in the reserves.

He didn't really do anything though did he? Not really. He had 2 blocked shots and provided a cross that was well defended under pressure. Collins had 1 good shot against the bar and nothing more.

Imo Flynn is a decent player and gets unfair stick, he looked good when he came on.

in all fairness he should have had a penalty before the given one when he went up for a header and blatently got pushed in the back which the linesman really should have given. He did well yesterday and does a lot more than collins.

Its about time Flynny was given a chance for the rest of the season. He shows passion and committment and is more like ly to score than most of the current side. He made a difference in his short time on the pitch at MK recently, did the same yesterday in an aweful performance and was about the only Town player in the woeful performance at Peterborough who came to the Town fans at the end and applauded us. Pick him from the start in midfield, what is their to lose. I also feel Clarky should have gone 3 at the back and brought on Flynny, Ainsworth earlier, as well as kept Roberts on. The confidence and swagger in the side only a few weeks ago seems to have gone. Unless it comes back soon Town are going to limp through to the end of the season and crowds will fall away accordingly. We deserve and expect much better than this next season and get some consistency.

Flynn thought Stan was hard done by (Wasn't given enough time) and must have said something because he hadnt been in the frame until the last few games. He also said with him not playing that much its harder for him to get into the team but he is showing good signs. I agree he did make a difference but I really can't see Clark shifting Goodwin or Collins. We shall see..

Did ok - he kept the ball moving well at a pace unlike some but went sideways too often and lost the tackles he went in for. Looked hungry though.
Won the pen, had a shot blocked and one which was nearer the corner flag.
Can't fault his attitude, will always score but he lacks the stamina and techincal ability to improve his all round game.

We literally have nothing to lose by giving these players a run out, to try new shapes and ideas.
I would have nothing against a town loss if these players played 120%, but just weren't good enough.
Jesus H. Clark has decided they aren't good enough to start, and although I have to respect that as his decision as manager, part of me would like to judge these none 1st 16ers for myself in a 'proper' game, and not the reserves.
There has to be a reason Broadbent, Denton, Berrett, et al don't cut it?

Broadbent isn't getting tried at first team level, because he has failed to do it at conference level, and the level below. Denton apparently looks nowhere near the first team. Fair enough on Berrett.
While I understand the argument that some of them should be tried at first team level, I think the priority at the moment should be getting a couple of results and getting some confidence back. Also, some fans seem to forget that Lee Clark gets to see all the players in training every day, that will be enough to show him that some of them haven't got what it takes.

I agree Paulmat, that if Broadbent can't get in a conference team maybe he isn't good enough, particularly as the manager sees them everyday, I was commenting merely on a selfish level, such that I could decide for myself.

I think he did well and I'd definitely have in him the starting line up for Hereford in place of Collins who's been missing for the last dozen games.

I've always liked Flynn, ever since his attitude at Chelts when we were 1-0 down and he shouted infront of the town faithful. Come on lads this is f*cking shit ;D He's always got goals in him aswell. Swindon springs to mind. Would like to see him given a run in to the end of the season.

To be fair specialun, he had to go sideways alot because collins hardly showed for the ball all game, boothys movement was laboured and the wide lads always want it to feet rather than in behind the opposition. Thought he had a good 20 mins or so and for me he did more good things than goodwin and collins combined!

I'd much rather Broadbent played than Jokeavitch
I like Clark but if he continues to play Lucas in the remaining games, rather than giving a kid who's been at Town most of his life a chance (and has good potential, England schoolboy, current League One Apprentice of the Year beating people like Smithies), and then releases Broadbent in the summer then I hope Clark can look at himself in the mirror afterwards!
Broadbent may not make the grade but I'm confident Jokeavitch won't on present showing, and what's the harm in giving Broadbent a crack. Both Booth and Stead's town careers both got off to poorish starts if we're honest, it only takes one goal for a striker to get the confidence going!
Jokeavitch has done nothing to warrant a start, not score, not create goals and hardly even runs. His attitude is shocking and the sooner he goes back the better (for both parties tbh). Clark talks about wanting players around who aren't happy to meander in League One, then he selects Jokeavitch, the epitomy of a footballing sloth!
He's not even a work in progress, because even if he does by some miracle find form Everton will benefit next season, it's not like we can make the play offs now!
Just what does Lucas have to do to get dropped, and what message is Clark sending out by continuing to pick him (and ignoring someone like Worthy). Not good Lee, chance here to set the standards you demand... or not!
As for Broadbent I read little in him not playing at Gateshead...
- it's the business end of the season, do Gateshead really want a 20 year old (Novak) and a 18 year old (Broadbent) leading in the line? - is Broadbent a similar player to Novak, from what I've read of Novak they sound similar. Can they play together? - does Broadbent know his Gateshead teammates? Did the Gateshead manger want to risk unsettle his winning team? - was Broadbent only signed as cover (was a Gateshead striker injured for a month?) who's now fit?
Re Flynn, he didn't let himself down on Saturday (which puts him in the minority tbh).
Craney dropped from the 16 I see, unless he's injured I think that would be the end of him at Town tbh, so that means Flynn and hopefully Berrett (who I saw in the gym yesterday morning at 10.15 doing some weights for his upper body, note a bit of dedication there Clark and Jokeavitch!) will get more of a chance this season as it draws to a close.
