Should that not be are? Good to see a more HTFC friendly board anyway. Anyone? ;D You think Seans wearing stockings and suspenders under his suit in homage to Tim Currys greatest creation ?

Should that not be are? Strictly speaking, no. Huddersfield Town is a football club, singular. Hence 'is' is quite correct. Using 'is' in that context pisses me right off and I'm sure it's only started in the last few years. Huddersfield Town ARE not bloody IS ! Surely a football club is a collective group of individuals therefore ARE should be used. And who has decided to suddenly start using IS anway ?! I'm sure it's a recent development unless I'm going completely mad Is this the shyte they teach in schools these days, it were always ARE in my day, IS just sounds wrong, maybe it's just me

Why not? She's a woman isn't she, in a predominantly male workplace. Well done Ann.

I blame the Americans

"Jarvis has also been instrumental in improving relations between the Club and its fans since his arrival, being the driving force behind the formation of one single supporters group - now known as the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association"
I can't for the life of me remember Sean being a leading member of FFA. We may have got a lot of support and encouragement from him but describing him thus really is taking the biscuit. Is this the club's way of further justifying their hijacking of the POTY event?

I don't often agree with you, Stanley, however I too thought this was a little strange. Maybe it should have been said that he was instrumental in encouraging a unified Supporter Association. However, the article does add some promotion for the said association. Congratulations, Sean. However, who is selling the advertising hoardings and hospitality boxes on behalf KSDL now?

I don't think Marshian is advocating affirmative action in what she said - she's just commented that she has done well considering it is a male-dominated profession. However, I agree - it shouldn't matter what gender someone is. In this case, I'm sure Ann has earnt her place on the board regardless
