I`m sure he is, but why, oh why- oh why, do Town representatives or staff or anyone always say they are "delighted"be it an appointment , a signing, how many were there, or how many tickets were sold etcetera.
Just look at the next statements unless one of them buys a Thesaurus and finds another adjective.

Good step forward for the club again under Deano. Jarvis not only takes on board the fan's wishes but trys his level best to implement changes to cater for our needs. A worthy board member in my opinion.

The game of chess continues....
I wonder if this has wider implications for things such as the stadium issue etc...

I had dealings with Sean last year and he was extremely helpful and his liaison with the supporters is excellent.

It is common use of grammar, using is instead of are.
"Management is..." "The board is..." "Huddersfield Town is..."
Management/the board/Huddersfield Town are deemed to act as one person, as a collective entity.
Exciting hey? ;D

Should that not be are? Strictly speaking, no. Huddersfield Town is a football club, singular. Hence 'is' is quite correct.

As I understand it, Americans say "is" for sports clubs.
The Brits say "are".
"Huddersfield Town are playing Swansea tonight", sounds much better to my uneducated ear.
