I can think of lots of memorable 'away'days ... - Wembley for the Autoglass (1st visit there in more than 50 years)
- Wembley for the Play-Offs (against Saturday's opponents incidentally!)
- Cardiff Millennium Stadium to play Stags, even though it wasn't the best of games
- Lots of cup wins (not to mention a certain Dave Cowling header ...)
- Duncan Shearer's hat-trick-scoring debut at Barnsley
- The 4-4 comeback at Bury (video of that elsewhere on this site)
... and numerous others, too many to mention!

Middlesbrough away in the league cup. Lost 5-1 but an absolute cracking game and atmosphere!
Who can ever forget the celebrations when Payton scored with about 2 minutes remaining!? Or indeed the Town fans celebrating Middlesbrough goals!!
1995?

Maybe so ... But you ought to be a Town fan living in Mansfield! ;D ;D And while we're at it, I'll include a couple of away games at Forest - the one on SKY where Wijnhard was left to walk the ball into an empty net after Chettle and the goalkeeper cocked up big-style, and the night match when Ndlovu strutted his stuff. Yes ... I might live in Mansfield ... but I work in Nottingham! ;D ;D And it's going to be a very tough New Year when we get arseholed again at the City Ground on Jan 1st!

Forest was 1-3 on Sky wasn't it? We always seemed to be shit at Mansfield The Forest game I remember was a Sunday afternoon (November 18th) - we played in the purpley-blue Millennium shirts and won 3-1 with goals from Clyde 2 and Kevin Gray. We even won the home game as well, to get the double. Boy, did I celebrate THAT season! Regarding Stags, I would disagree. Other than the season we got hammered in the Cup under Macari, we've done quite well at Field Mill. I've seen us win lots of times, including goals there by Colin Russell, Magic Marcus, Jon Stead (robbed by the ref right on half-time - why didn't he blow???) and a Chris Hutchings belter!

Newcastle away 83 or 84 ... we lost 5-2 but what a game!!!
The jawdies had Keegan, Waddle, Beardsley et all playing and we caught the 'footy special' to jawdie land, then escorted thru t'centre of Newcaslte to the ground.

York 0-2 Town
Schofield and Mirfin both in the dying minutes. We went ballistic behind that goal.

Blackpool away, first game of the 1994-95 season; 4-1 win with goals from Paul Reid and Jeppo, 2 each.
Turned away by Plod from the Town end at 2:15, I put my black t-shirt on over my Town shirt and we went in at the 'Pool end. Remember biting my tongue each time we scored, but in the end the blokes around us worked out that we must be Town fans, and we had a great afternoon of banter!

I think the last special i went on, was to Wolves in the cup. We got held up at Stalybridge, after the Chickens special broke down in the Stanedge tunnel.

Not so much a popular one this, Oxford away 03/04. Sodje scoring the winner with a header from a corner and running away arms flailing like the mad man he is/was. On the way back i remember hearing Jimmymac (i'm pretty sure it was him) on the radio, just managing, 'Jackson is god, Sodje is the messiah!' before being cut off. a classic in my mind!

That forest game was brilliant and also terrible in equal measures. The football itself was spot on but Id spent the previous night on acid in the cookie club(now sadly shut) and felt like dying... ;D I went to school with chris greenacre so the 4-0 away at mansfield in the cup with him scoring a hattrick was one of the worst away matches ive ever been to.

2-1 away at Lincoln, early 80's. They were unbeaten at home up until that point. We played them around boxing day I think. Great atmosphere in the open end with the Town fans.
Blackburn away in the league cup, the first season the back pass rule was introduced and I think it was Shearer who scored with his arse after the Blackburn keeper tried to hoof a bad back pass. Lost that game to a certain Duncan shearer after ET, but a cracking atmosphere again.

Probably the Bernebau with 10,000 fellow whites there officially, but thousands more all around the ground.
Also the San Siro, Nou Camp, Olympic stadiums in Rome and Munich spring to mind.
In this country it has to be Bournemouth 90.
